no one is buying and selling that much stuff to take a loss. cut the bullsh1t and just admit you are selling cigars to make some extra money. hell you might be selling just enough to get some freebies. I dont have a problem with you making a little money because no one is forcing anyone to buy from you but stop lying. Its honestly pathetic to look at you scramble to defend yourself.

I swear on my mother's life I take losses almost ALL the time.  It comes from having a VERY addictive personality.  When I want something, I'll pay whatever I have to to get it.  Once I get it, I end up liking them and buying more to share, have major buyer's remorse and know I didn't have to or should of paid so much, and/or end up selling it right away.  Sometimes I'm really lucky and break even, but mostly not since its REALLY hard to get out to USPS, and plus I don't like using the small $5 boxes since they're crappy and offer no protection. So shipping is always at least $11, up to $25 sometimes.

Regarding the TAA's...  I bought close to a dozen boxes of '11 TAA's from anywhere from $250-$320 from various sources (here, people I've met, and other shops.). $320 or so was the last box I bought here from "Clint". I always sold (shared in my eyes) at $75/shipped UPS (maybe $80/shipped once for a box I paid $320 for.  That's not exactly making a profit...  That's a loss, and it usually comes in the form of shipping and materials.  So are 9/10 things I list.  There of course will be that 1/10 times I get to try one or two cigars out of a box, then sell them at what I got them for, sans shipping.  So basically, I lose out on that too since I use extra packing material and pay out of pocket to use faster shipping so that they don't sit in a warehouse over the weekend at times.

But like someone mentioned, if someone doesn't like my prices, they don't have to buy.  I list first at what I got them for, hoping I'll make my money back, then go down from there.  I buy locally A LOT, to support whatever shops are left, so that makes it even more expensive for me, but worth it to me in the end.  I see it as if I can't afford to pay a few bucks extra or even lose a few bucks to try different cigars with people and/or "share the wealth", then I shouldn't be smoking/buying in the first place.

Again, I don't have wholesale connections or have a way to buy at wholesale prices, so I will pay $25-30 plus tax for Padron FRs, and almost $20 for any Opus.  Ask the Tinder Box in Costa Mesa or Maxamar in Orange.  I buy everything at full price.  And then I'm not going to lie, but I get lucky here sometimes, as well.  Sometimes at "rip-off" prices for HTF sticks and some at fair/market-value.

I guess I'm the only one that sees it this way, but "taking a loss" to God-honestly share/"sell" sticks, at a loss, isn't any different to me than "bombing/gifting" cigars from one BOTL to another.  ???

But anyways, I think and hope that everyone I've ever sold to is happy and got exactly what they were willing to pay and purchased, and had their cigars packed and sent better than 99% of the people out there.  Just like how I would like my cigars treated if I spent my hard-money on them.  And I think my user feedbacks speak for themselves.

Even today, someone really wanted an item I listed, but said they were short. So I said whatever they had was close enough, that I'd cover the rest, and sold it to them.  I'm not a bad guy like people are making me out to be or someone that's "trying to make a few bucks or get a few sticks out of it...".

If anything I've done, offended anyone, I apologize.  But I am NOT a liar.  If you feel like I cheated you or ripped you off somehow, please Pm me to work something out or show you receipts/statements/emails/etc. or even make good on how you felt "ripped off" or "screwed".  A few dollars really isn't worth having a bad rep, when really having good intentions and try to help people out, so I'm sorry, once again.  It's just frustrating seeing how many people are "calling the tea-kettle black" around here when it's the complete opposite.

Anyways, I really feel like this is beating a dead horse, so I appreciate those with kind things to say, and hope that everyone else understands.

Thanks guys.  I hope you all had an awesome weekend.

I don't know about this kid losing money, but the communication is the worst. Told me he would sell me some opus sharks. Quotes a price, I say ok, then me doesn't respond to pm for a week. I can see the fucker is clearly online. So, a week goes by, a send another pm about opus sharks and how ill buy 'em for $180. He sends back an email saying," not sure i wanna sell them, and if I do it will be on my terms. Well, fuuuuuuuuck you. Now I see what people mean by cocksuckers hold in' auctions to highest bidder on here. Needless to say, I won't buy anything from this kid. Thanks everyone for posting the truth about this guy. You guys saved a noob from get tin' burned I'm sure. Thanks Scott for your brutal honesty. Keep call 'em like ya see 'um. Thanks wade for a great site. It's a shame there couldn't be a bullshit detector built into the computer.

First off not taking any sides here...I've done one transaction with Danny and had no issues. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but the way I look at it is, if someone is gouging prices then don't buy from them. This site seems to be for people to be free to buy and sell however they please.

Why don't you guys drop a dime to the ATF or California state taxation department. Someone is profiting without paying sales tax. Just sayin'
[/quote]

This ^^, not cool. That could potentially affect the well-being of this site and everyone on it. Issues/concerns of these types should ALWAYS be handled in-house/within the cigar community. No disrespect meant to anyone, just my two cents...

I only meant it as a joke. I hope know one would go that far. I apologize if I made anyone nervous. That's my problem with technology, it doesn't capture the sarcastic tone of voice I would say that in. Humor sometimes doesn't translate.

Carp69:  How many times have you said you were going to buy?  I've saved them for you for over a week or more now.  You made an offer, and I denied it saying I would rather just keep them.  Then you said you'd buy them again.  Then you message again asking if I have them.  ???

So you said you'd take 3 for now, then 2 later.  Then you go on about not communicating??  When I'm waiting for YOU??  I will post ALL of your PMs asking "Are you still holding them??" if that's what it takes to clear my name, but it is getting really ridiculous.  Either buy, or pass.  I have a job, travel 80-90% of my time, so I don't have time to do the run-around. If you want them, buy them.  If you don't, don't.  I don't mind keeping them and won't live or die from selling/keeping.

Again, I said I would hold them for you from the get-go.  But for you to say I'm ripping people off and not responding?  How many times do I need to say "take your time, I'll hols them".

Also, you posted a box of FFPs for $200ish, which I was selling for $150ish shipped.  Then you just posted a listing for $300 for a box of the W.CD Padrons.  If anyone wants a box from me, I bought four.  If I'll be selling, it'll be for about $150-170 AT MOST.  I bought two boxes from the Maryland store for $320ish shipped, and $280ish from the DC Store.  (Tax differences and the MD store doesn't give 10% off on the box, but charge "20 sticks" rather than "2 boxes"). I'll post pics of the receipts too, if I have to.  Call George at the MD store and ask how much a box is at each of W.CD's locations.  $155 and some change, DC is $135ish (not including shipping).  Definitely NOT $300 like Carp69 here.

You're calling me out, when you're trying to make double on the W.CD Padrons, $20/stick for FFP's, and whatever else.  At first, I though "King" was a little too much too handle and declined dealing with him (which he was more than a gentleman about), but at this point, I'd be MORE than happy to sell him my BR and TENDERLOINS he offered $40/each for and TURNED DOWN (when I'm supposedly ripping people off, for cheaper, than to sell a single Shark to Carp69 for $100 each.

I buy boxes/cigars and then hold onto them, having buyer's remorse or aging them.  Or I'll buy and try a couple, if I like them, I keep them. If I don't, I sell them for what I bought them for or less, not including shipping.  Sometimes, again, even cheaper so others can try too, at prices that you would get from buying a box compared to singles.

You should really get your facts straight and stop calling the kettle black when you are MUCH worse with communicating and ripping people off.  If you want them, buy them.  If you don't, pass. Simple as that.  Yet, while you message me ALL THE TIME about the Opus Sharks, you're here bad-mouthing me.

Anyone need bank statements/receipts?  I'll show you.  I'll have 100% transparency for any doubters.  I even thought about buying a box of Flor des las Antillas to smoke and sell fivers for $30-35/shipped, since I knew people would want to try/age them, but they're on back-order.  (Like a box-split, but covering most, if not all shipping)

People might think my intentions are bad, a "bad BOTL", or whatever.  But there's nothing that shows that they are or that I am.  Check my feedback.  It speaks for itself.  If I say its my last box, it really is. But when people seem to really want them, I try to find them for them.  Did the same today for Angel Shares today, as a matter of fact.

Again, I never ripped anyone off, never made anyone buy something, and always make sure they get what they buy MORE than safely.  I treat all my sales like I would want mine treated, and people I've dealt with know that.

And to all that have commented on the truth and reality of the whole situation, thank you very much. I REALLY appreciate it.  I'm glad you were happy with your purchase/delivery, and I hope you're enjoying your sticks!!  One of these days, bombs away!!!  Right now, I'm getting married, so taking a loss is better than being stuck with cigars I can't smoke in a year or so anyways (quitting).  In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy my smokes, always try new cigars and old favorites, and share the wealth with others.  If I couldn't afford it, I wouldn't do it.  Taking a loss or not.

No.  He messaged me with an offer to buy some PT's and BR's that I had mentioned I had for trade for some specific HTF items.  I declined, since I wasn't looking to sell them, and that's all.  Never sold to him or dealt with him as far as selling/trading/buying goes.  Nice guy though, with a enthusiasm and passion for cigars that I haven't seen in awhile; which is a refreshing step away from politics/false-speculations/etc.

btw, Carp69's a great guy.  We've become pretty cool on and off here on OLH.  Funny part is that he's bought from me immediately after all the drama.  Like JimmPA mentioned, another awesome BOTL and guy to deal with; buy if you want, don't if you don't want to.

And like I said, sometimes I get deals here, but 99% of the time, I don't.  I just bought a few Opus Double-Robustos for around $20+/each after taxes again at the Tinder Box in OC/LA area, some Power Rangers for $17+/each at Vintage Cigars in the OC, and a few other sticks.  And that's the cheapest I'll ever find them for sale (unless on here).

PLEASE let me know if anyone has Opus' or other cigars for under or even at MSRP, and I'll be more than happy to split boxes/packs or whatever at the prices I buy them at.  But I have a compulsive nature when it comes to cigars, so I'll pay whatever I need to to get them. Then sometimes I'll sell some off for one reason or another.  I deal with a lot of people off-line, referred to me, and they're more than happy with what I have to offer them.  ???

Then why buy them there if you can get them here cheaper? You can't be as dumb as you try to get people to believe. Did ya miss me DannyBoy?
