And this is the way guys like TL like it.   ;)

Care to identify this "council" you speak of?
The word "council" in this context refers to judgment. While I am very grateful for the work that was done exposing the TL fakes, I'm not sure that calling something a rule with regard to trades, without the actual authority to do so is terribly helpful.

I think that persuasion would have been more effective, but that requires thoughtful argument.  Calling something a rule, that is at best a suggestion is silly.

I do think however that using this part of the forum to ask questions about sellers makes sense. I welcome the experience that many posters here have, and look forward to lively discussion.

TL was a wake-up call for me.  He sent me a free stick and I came close to falling for it.  It never felt right, looked right.  But with all the positive feedback and  :nana: as a noob I didn't want to "stir the pot" if you will.

I am glad some vets stepped up and stopped it.

Do your best to protect yourself, let the community chip in to help, if we all work together to HELP each other, the better off we will all be.

If Master calls you out with a "Who's _____" thread, and you got nothing to hide, step up to the plate and introduce yourself.  Yeah, the approach is direct, but I like direct.

Nor, frankly do you know me. I do know that calling something a rule without the permission of the site owner to make rules, much les enforce them, is a little bit silly, don’t you think?

Again, my point was, that we will have to make our own decisions here. Hopefully they will be informed decisions, but that will be up to each one of us and won't be the result of rules.

Would a thread of vets of OLH and various boards not just CF be willing to offer their helpful advice on if they know if a person is trustworthy, I pm'ed one man who offered to help as I wanted to buy some HTF cigars he had I just am seriously gun shy, but have not got an answer, I did my due diligence but still am unsure after TL anyone is suspect to me! They could post their willingness in a thread and we could ask in private as to not embarrass anyone.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask for this type of thread. For instance I know Bob from another board and if he said so an so was okay I would purchase, it's not just newbies we have to worry about.

just a thought!

Or, guys could just start changing their sig tags to look like mine.  If everyone did this then the guy who doesn't sure would look like he has something to hide.

Just because it says newbie here it has nothing to do with a member's experience. It just means how many posts he/she has put up.

I have tons of posts but I am a newbie.

CB
Great coffee, cigars and whiskey. Love them all.

You are right I don't know you, but I do know both Wade and Master from way back.  I have talked and herfed with both of them in person.  I know then both well.  I know this board and was here before Wade bought it from DannyM.  Do you know all of that history too?  There is more to my comments than just what has happened here in the last few months.  Just sayin.

"The Masters rules are his rules" .
And if you are going to quote Wade you may want to use his whole thought here.

"So, The Masters rules are his rules, and in general they are pretty good rules (When I did my first trades way back when, look in my profile on CF, I sent my end first), but I'm certainly not enforcing any rules on how you conduct your trades, but if you follow his rules you'll surely cut down on the douche-baggery."

I guess that would work if I were a member of Cf...
Without cigars, I would have lost it long ago...

My OLH references... http://www.onlinehumidor.com/forum/index.php?action=profile

I would invite you to ask anyone at cigarbid.com for more references...
