Did a post get deleted? I didn't see any mention of a rock hard German Shepherd penis when describing this cigar. ;)

Smoked one side by side with a questionable esp and a known good robo. This cigar was terrible, seriously terrible. The taste had nothing in common with the other two, which were both varying degrees of enjoyable. I can't post a review because it was so bad it was ruining my other comparison and I had to chuck it.

Well, at least it wasn't just me. I can't imagine these being given to diplomats unless the goal is to poison them.
What did people pay TL for these dog rockets?

Conclusion (in case it wasn't clear already):
- Highly unlikely to be a rebanded real CoLa
- Fake
- Gross

A diplomatic cohiba is just a regular production cohiba with a second band and different packaging. Nothing different about the blend.
The other thing to consider is that the diplomatic cohibas are traditionally made in 3 sizes. Lanceros, corona especials and panetelas as these were favorites of Fidel Castro.

This was not a regular production Cohiba, imo. It was mostly revolting.
(I know you're just adding information, I'm just making sure it's clear for everyone else).

Re: Smoking a TL "diplomatic" Cohiba Lancero
I smoked one Saturday almost to the nub (it was for a good cause). My review: I found it to be mostly bitter with an awful, nasty aftertaste. Not much else to say. I was smoking a regular production CoLa when I lit this up so I had a pretty good reference point. Not even close. I had held out hope before I smoked this that these were just regular production with an extra band but not only were these not Cohiba Lanceros but I'm convinced they were not Cuban as well.
I just don't get how some here on this board smoked these and raved about them.

Pictures or it didn't happen!
Wait...that's right...I was there when you smoked it.
Even the smoke in the air(and we were outside) was annoying!
You did a fine job for a great cause!
