Smoking a TL "diplomatic" Cohiba Lancero

Post by moki »

Finally a sunny day, I am outside mowing my lawn and smoking some if the cigars people bought from TL.

First up is a "diplomatic" Cohiba Lancero with a single palm extra band. Wrapper us beautiful, construction is good, though the draw is a little tight. Initial taste are unduly young and bitter.

Will continue to "live review" and post here as I go

Continues to be bitter, but with hints of some not horrible leather-ish taste and cardamom spice. Overall, mostly unpleasant and leaving a bitter burnt stinging taste in my mouth.

I actually thought due to how well the cigar was made that this might be a real Cohiba Lancero with another band on it prior to smoking it.

Whatever it is, so far it has been unpleasant

I've slowed down smoking it considerably and am getting some marginally enjoyable taste from it. Definitely young whatever it is. I would have pitched this already were it not for the "mission"

Sad, well made cigar, has burned well. If it's a CoLa, it's sick as a dog

3-4 inches left, it went out. Faced with the prospect of a relight, sorry guys, I'm pitching it. Will take it apart for a looksie first tho

Wrapper was nicely applied, 3 layers of binder, then properly "booked" long filler inside with no stems.

Some of the tobacco didn't look fully cured, with blotches on it, but other than that it's what I'd expect to be inside a premium cigar in terms of the tobacco leaf.

Will post pics later, onto the Monte GR!

I found this cigar to be fairly awful. Has anyone else smoked these?

I'd be interested in your opinions as well
