I would suggest that all of us call the PayPal compnany and file a fraudulent claim against him. I told them that he has scammed people in the last few days for thousands of dollars. Just my 2 cents.

based on feedback, looks like Firebender just sold HIM something a month ago
Guessing he still has his address if you ask

Its a start, what you do from there is up to you

I contacted Firebender a little while ago and was able to get his address. Working with some of the other guys who were scammed on filing a police report if Mark DeCarlo does not respond and make things right.

I remember him from 2012ish. He kept calling me to buy some opus. The community was a lot smaller then. I checked the scumbaglist, low and behold there was his name. Times like this make you miss Taps investigative work.

I’m sorry but after all the scams and crap that have happened on this forum and elsewhere, people STILL pay FnF for high ticket items to sellers they haven’t dealt with previously or that they don’t know in person? That’s a big risk to take over 4% savings...

[/quote]

I thought it was more for not having someone charge back the $$ saying they never received good.  Then the seller is out $$ and cigars.

Hope you guys get your money back.

Here is a telephone number I had for him from our last deal in early 2013:

315 734 5079

Google says Noth central NY, so there's a good chance he hasn't moved, but whether that number is still good, who knows.

Good luck to all who have been taken here.

Guys, don't just write this off.  Do what the last crew who got scammed did, get the info together and take it to the police.  For one thing it might just get your $$ back, and for another it deters assholes from doing it again if they realize there actually are consequences.

It's been two yrs since the smokinseegars mess.  People seem to have forgotten that it was actually resolved about as well as can be expected.

PayPal informed me to do several things;
1) dispute with the bank
2) fillout a complaint on IC3.gov

i am not sure if this will help, but i did it.
the only info i have is his name and email.
do you have any other relevant info. to add to the complaint about him?

thanks gene
