Deathtrap

Post by JohnE1000 »

I am not trying to stir argument here - I know Wade's stand.  I noticed a case scenario that could be a deathtrap for new/infrequent/uninformed members, and I hate to see another person is taken advantage off.

TL account is still active, and with the new changes only the thread owner can post.

A new member comes in, browse the TSBS forum, find TL for sale threads, get impressed by all of the dancing bananas, contact TL to purchase, the deal is done through PM, the new member is taken advantage off without anyone noticing.

This is a very likely scenario. Once someone contacted my regarding a sale thread that was few weeks old. The cigars was still available, and I made a deal with that member.

This is can happen but hopefully they are smart enough to look a the trader comments. If they can't figure that part out then that's their fault. Ive always looked at trader comments before dealing with anyone whether I am the seller or buyer.

You raise a valid point but I just don't think it's very likely that dune coon will pop up again.  He knows the game is up, so to speak, and that the level of vigilance here is at DEFCON-1.

Ninersfan I think you could have used some less offensive terms for TL. Such as Asshat, democrat, Richard sucker, or douche bag. At least you did not call him a macanudo smoker!

You may not realize it but all threads in the TSBC that have not been posted on are deleted after 30 days.  The TL threads will all be gone in a matter of a couple of weeks.  Oh and I think "Deathtrap" is a little strong.
