Buying from Newbs
A little honest advice: A newb is selling cigars that I really want at a good price in the TSBC area. The guy has no user comments and only a handful of posts, but he has been a member for three years. Where do you guys draw the line when buying? If I send him money, he could just disappear, since his ties to the board are rather thin at best. I know there is always an element of "caveat emptor" anywhere you buy, but I was just wondering what some of you more experienced traders thought about it...

Don't do deals for anything you are not afraid to lose. ;)

I would ask them if they are active on any other boards =, and if they are have them send you or someone you know there a PM to confirm.

Re: Buying from Newbs
I was indoctrinated into the world of online cigar trading with the understanding the noobs send their end first.
This board is a little different as it seems to be more a mixed community then a community onto itself like CF, CP, and the like. Still, it's easy enough to determine if one is selling to a respected and established member, and an honest seller shouldn't have a problem sending their end fist to such a member, at least IMHO.

I contacted the seller: he requires a money order instead of p*pal "because I have not done business with you before."
I'm learning :)

Re: Buying from Newbs
Heavyd, with 4 posts and less than a week of membership, why would someone trust you to send money after you receive their cigars?
Newb to Newb, all bets are off you two may as well talk more thoroughly and work it out.
