Covid and cigar taste?

Talk about tasting and smelling on side bar? Totally out of thin air I tested positive for Covid just now. We live two hours north of the big city, away from family and was about to get in a car to do stuff with a friend.

Well that’s over.

We love smoking a cigar or two almost every day. If it is fokkin’ freezing it might be a cigarillo but usually it is the kind we all talk about here. And today I suddenly get this sore throat. No biggie but was going to get in car with friend for an hour and drive to a casino. Mr Beaver is out of town so hey hey.

Boom.

Heard so many talk about taste loss. Bummer. But cigar enjoyment loss? Noooooooooo…..

COVID is here to stay. We're just going to have to deal with it. Around here death rate is way down. Most experience mild symptoms. I had it back in January along with wife and daughter. Two days of feeling worn out but other than that, mild. Never lost taste. Just had a runny nose and 1 day of fever. Yes, we were fully vaxxed.

Exactly with us. Just feel like a flu/cold. Going to not breathe on others and  going to chill out until I feel better. Will test out a decent small cigar maybe in a day or two.

So this is funny but no offence to the nicest guy who sent it me! Last night my throat was sore so I smoked this tiny Raphael Gonzalez in my singles box. Ugh it was so bitter! Maybe because of my sore throat?

No. Some cigars just taste like yuck. Lol.

I had delta last August and I lost my taste and smell for about a week (unvaxed).

My smell is still a bit off. Poop smells like it has a metallic smell, dr pepper tastes like cotton candy and reeses cups have never tasted better. I feel like I don't enjoy cigars quite as much as before. I still smoke a ton of cigars though.

I'd occasionally buy a can or two of skoal long cut mint and that just smelled like a can of chemicals. I just bought a can today for the first time in damn near a year and it smells normal again. Come to think about it, poop is smelling kind of like poop again!

Hope you do well with it. I loaded up on tons of natural juices and stayed very hydrated last August. I think I might have had omicron in December but I didn't test myself. I basically slept for a day and a half and the only thing I did when I woke up was piss and slam a quart of water. We have probably 30 tests down in the basement and I kick myself all the time for not testing myself in December.

So finally my sore throat is gone and I never had that lost taste thing I heard about so often. Took a test this morning, three days later and still winning the Covid lotto.  :-\

But wtf, taking a little Trini Short and lighting up by the pool. If it does not make me cough/barf/die I say I win. Won’t breathe on others but won’t stop breathing either.

Got Covid last September and lost all taste and smell.  It’s been 10 months and I still have no taste or smell.  I’ve tried to smoke but I get nothing.  Still hoping it comes back but after this long I’m not sure
