Tonight I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase three examples of one cigar that has been on my Must Try List for a good few years, 3 Don Carlos Lanceros. Others on my list include the Casa Fuente Lancero and the Ramone Allones 8-9-8.
So what's on your list?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I have had the opportunity of trying several great cigars, but this choice is simple-
1987 Cubatabaco 25 Aniversario Humidor Corona
I know good luck right!

Re: What's on your Holy Grail/Must Try list?
There are sooo many out there that I either haven't the first clue about, or aren't that far removed from availability. So I'll be pretty easy to please in the coming years.
HOWEVER.
There is one cigar that I would love to get my hands on, ever since I happened upon the cigar online. Funny thing is, I know nothing about it, I just think it would be pretty damned cool to smoke a cigar with that name. I know. No other reason. But I'm pretty sure it would rock, regardless.

I know, I know. But its my dream, dammit.

Re: What's on your Holy Grail/Must Try list?
I've had a chance to smoke some REALLY nice cigars courtesy of several brothers of the leaf and have gifted away several rare sticks that I would have like to have tried, but felt it would be better as a gift for someone else to try.
There are only 2 rare sticks I really care to smoke. One would be a Fuente 13. I had a box, smoked one, and traded the rest to the local crew so everyone could have the chance to try one. It would be really nice to smoke another of the originals as the first one I had was the most complex cigar I've ever had. The other would be Punch Black Prince. I had a fiver and traded 3 away and gifted the other two to someone desperately searching for some.

... I was all like... ??? ??? ??? Did a little homework, (okay, okay, so I really just googled it but still I did say a LITTLE homework :) ), now I wanna smoke one too! LOL That shape alone is captivating! The fact that it was D/C'ed over 30 years ago... well, prolly smokin' purdy well right now I'd say! And the fact that it's an RA, well, nuff said!

Is the blend any different then the Veradero or the mojito? I've been fortunate enough to have smoked a number of examples of each of these and was amazed by their depth and complexity. Much stronger then I would have guessed for a cigar with as much age as these had. The Cabinetta is still my fave in this line, (and I'm usually a thinner RG smoker), but these sure were very memorable, each and every one.

Kind of forgot about this one when I was thinking about my list. This should be on there too. The only AF stuff I've really found myself smoking for the past few years have been the DC line and the occasional Hemingway Natty. But I really do enjoy them very much and would jump at the opportunity to experience a Senior Blend too.
One would be a Fuente 13.
I have but one sitting in the humi that was gifted to me by an outragously generous BTOL for my birthday last year. Waiting for just the right time to smoke that one. Then I'm sure it will be on my list as well!
The other would be Punch Black Prince
I am an admitted aged Punch fanatic. From Ninfas, to SS 1&2, to Churchills, to DC's and beyond, I love 'em all!! I picked up about 10 of these a few years back as singles in the deep discount sales. I wish I would have picked up about 100 more. I stopped at 10 because of the 4 Punch CG's these were always talked about as having the least flavorful or desirable profile. This was not my experience at all. While some that I got had some fairly substancial burn issues, all were tasty as hell and I found that I liked them as well as any Punch Punch I'd smoked, and more then any RS-11. Alas, I have not had any in my humi in some time and am unsure whether I ever will again. :'( :'( :'(

Dang! Gotta respect a guy with high aspirations! I've seen a few 1992's floating around in my day, but never a 1987. Guess I run in the wrong circles! Good luck on your quest my friend! Please let us know how they smoke when you are fortunate enough to try one.

Re: What's on your Holy Grail/Must Try list?
Been lucky as well to try some old Davi's and Dunhills....just got back from the UK and Ireland. What I found in one humidor was insane, and now make my list of "holy grail" sticks.
109 Presidentia - Republica de Cuba - diplomatic torp
1996 Especialidad - commissioned for Mr. Wolters.
A Dunhill Cabinetta or Estupendo
So many out there....never read MRN's book by the way! :) lol! It's insane what is out there just from 03 and before.
Was at the Lanesborough (sp) in London...they had a full humi of the original Behikes (for 2,000 friggen pounds each! That's currently a 3600 cigar...at least from this guy who can charge what he likes of course). They had lots of diplomatic sticks, old Cohibas (30 and 35th anni to include A's etc).
The CT25! :) Doubt I'll ever see one
