Holy Grail Purchase!!!

Post by Knuck42 »

I've been very fortunate to have smoked some wonderful HTFs in my day, but there's always that list.  You know, cigars ya wanna try but haven't gotten around to pursuing.  Or maybe justifying the price didn't come easily enough.  Or maybe you were always in the wrong place at the right time... whatever.

Well tonight all of the stars ligned up, and I scored 3 Don Carlos Lanceros!!  :bangin: :nana: :bounce:

Hoo-fuckin'-rah baby!!!  I've wanted to try these for some time now and for whatever reason never did manage to get any in the humi.  Well, by tomorrow at this time they'll be on their way!!  I can't wait to spark on of these bad boys!!  I've heard so much about them.  And the DC line is one of my favorite NC lines.  Love me a #3 with a few years on it!!

Now to get my hands on a Casa Lancero and a RA 8-9-8.  Hmmm...

They arrived yesterday and they look beautiful!!  Must resist sparking one too soon.  Must let them rest for a week or two.  Must... resist... must hold on... must...

Bad, real, real, real bad!!

I'm pretty proud of myself as I actually allowed these to sit in the humi for 10 whole days before sparking one!  Today I took a very loooooong drive and thought that the time sitting behind the wheel would be well spent sampling one of these fine sticks.  Man, was I ever right!

What can I say?  Amazing AF Cameroon goodness times ten!  Light ginger/spice, and quite creamy at the outset.  Lots of dried fruit and black cherry in the second third along with the aforementioned creaminess.  The final third all of these flavors intensified and played off of each other in complex and interesting way that held my attention until I was all but burning the enamel off of my teeth!!

Razor sharp burn, copious plumes of smoke, slightly tight on the draw from about 2" in to about 4" in though not enough to impede the amount of smoke generated, light gray ash that held firmly for about 1.25" at a time.

This was just a superb cigar, very nuanced & subtle.  The kind of cigar that anyone could enjoy but only a seasoned smoked could truly appreciate.

Final score 95.
