Gary Bohn

Post by mastershake72 »

I know the old school way to do things is to leave drama from other places where it originated. IMO, that applies less and less these days because people operate on multiple platforms and many of the same cigars posted for sale here are also posted on FB and vice versa.

If you're not aware of Gary Bohn, he is a seller who operates a page on FB called "Cuban Connection." He sells for some of the highest margins on FB and in the past has claimed to sell only the highest quality stuff, even though he was purchasing from the same sites everybody else does. Imagine the used car seller of cigars (or for those that remember, any TL sales pitch)...that's Gary. But the large issue with Gary is when he sold fakes.

Proof here:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Hp6Ab8IC-tFUsOM_YgVGYVPQfnz0389w?usp=sharing

Included are screenshots of Gary's posts selling MUO ENE 14 Siglo V and VI. These cigars have a large array of issues:
1. There was no MUO run of Siglo V.
2. These cigars are from January of 14, yet they have the new bands which didn't debut til May.
3. None of the boxes have transit seals.
4. The wax paper has a Cohiba logo with white around the edges.
5. The ribbon is a lemon yellow color, far off from the school bus yellow that the ribbon should be.
6. Most damning of all is a screenshot from CTO, a known fake outlet. They list MUO ENE 14 Siglo V being available and that proves provenance of these fake cigars.

I'm posting this because his name has been mentioned several times in the BZ and there was a request for background info.

Is Denis in these forums? I was banned from a group recently for mentioning his name with the word Behike in the same sentence after he conned people out of tens and thousands of dollars. THEN recieved donations. By far the biggest scam I have personally ever witnessed on any website or group.

Forgot to mention he is associated with known scammer Amir Saroony.
Gary immediately shut down the thread about ASs scams on CC.

sounds like a tough recovery down in havana... lol

It never ceases to amaze me how these things happen over and over again from repeat offenders.  Gary Bohn is still majorly active and slinging stuff all over the place for example

i was just removed from Gary's fb group, as well as blocked by all his admins hahaha.  Its funny because I hardly ever post in there, so i'm assuming its the comments I make here on OLH about him.  Good riddance

He's still active over on the FOH forum. Probably because you can't say anything bad about anyone.

One of the first google searches to come up on his name is a very interesting verdict from an Illinois court (his FoH handle suggests that he resides there). I am sure that there are plenty of Gary Bohns out there in IL but this one mentions cigars and humidors more than once. Is this the same guy?

There are 2 cases involving him that I’m aware of. One is a straightforward coke bust (intent to distribute perhaps?) In any case, I know there are plenty of people in recovery in this hobby so I’m certainly not going to judge too harshly. The other one though, boy is that something. It involves the targeting and defrauding of minorty communities out of the equity in their homes. That’s the kind of thing that should have bad karma following you around for the rest of your days IMO.
