Has anyone actually seen these counterfeit Warped posts?

Post by Jimmy_Jak »

So, Kyle Gellis of Warped Cigars has been saying that someone was selling counterfeit Warped cigars through forums.

Actually...he doesn't know that they are. It's been reported by cigar sites as a "heard it from a man who" situation. No direct evidence or citations of fact. Just "it has been brought to our attention".

His response is to start using high tech verification seals on his cellophane now for some of his brands. Skyflower and other premium cigars.

Now I am a fan of his cigars. Not his style...but his cigars are better than average.

My questions is this. Has anyone actually seen these sales or posts? Anyone at all?

I'm a fan of Warped cigars as well, but Kyle's story sounds like a tall tail.  He claims that folks were paying "over $100 on private forums" for fake Sky Flowers??  Are we really to believe that people were paying that?? Even Saka knows that a $100 cigar is a meant to be a joke... :lookatme:

Hey! How come "Habana" is written on here with a Sharpie ?!?

I'm a fan of some of his stuff as well but the mans a tool. When our shop opened up Warped, we were sent 50 - Two inch pins with his likeness on them. Who does that? His stories are lame as well. Shut up and make cigars.

Hyping up his own brand, eh? I doubt it's better for the bottom line than fancy boxes.

First off, Warped cigars are just ok, if I was going to counterfeit cigars, it sure in the hell wouldn’t be Warped.  There are a lot of more expensive rarer cigars to counterfeit!

Kind of a necro but I just saw this. When I read the IPCPR article about the tags my BS meter went off, and this is coming from a guy with a bunch of Warped's cigars.  I think Kyle's time in the wine industry cross-pollinated.
