Uhhh, is this a thing now? Is there something I've missed before?
Because getting people to put 75% down, for cigars you don't yet have in hand, seems like a pretty comfortable position to be in? I mean, I sell off some of my Jorgito Monsdales and Robusto Largos and Yolanda Piramides occasionally too. But, it's all stuff that I have in hand, personally, and stuff that I've bought directly myself, so I can speak 100% to the provenance of them.
My prices might be higher, but I assume the risk and the additional costs with it all.
I mean, not trying to shit on the guy for doing it, but 75% down for a yet-to-be-guaranteed order seems fairly well-off.
Or am I missing something???

my experience has been positive with Dallas...he is upfront about the process and if you aren't a fan of it simply move on...that would be my 2 cents (btw have had some seriously nice smokes from him). MB

You ARE missing something. That arrangement is more like a group buy of sorts than a straight up sale. You are able to buy what you want, how you want, and get it FULLY guaranteed in a set amount of time.
I have been to Cuba with Dallas via his website and bought many, many bundles from him and know his process and the hassle he goes through. It is well worth it to me to give a percentage up front to avoid all the shit of traveling there for the most part yet I get what I want as if I was there.

You are late to the party, newbie.
Dallas has been doing this for quite a while and is very transparent about the details.
If you don't lik the terms than move on.

Be sure and make deposits in all areas of your life, because at some point you will need to make a withdraw. No deposits are more important than those made in relationships.

Not only Dallas, but a guy in Toronto does it too named Lester. Feel free to write me a short note about this stuff.
We have no interest in going to Cuba. Only inspected and graded stuff from guys we know and trust, certain years and brands.

Great coffee, cigars and whiskey. Love them all.

Re: Ninja's "Group Buy Cuban Customs"...
Since post A brother sent me a message with a question I thought was awesome. I am going to answer it here. Take it or leave it.
I do not get the customs to compete with or replace my other favourite cigars. I absolutely despise anything fake or less than what it says it is. We do not even buy seconds. We were just curious about customs, and I once spent the afternoon at a cigar shop in Toronto with Jorge. I posted the pics here lots of times.
We like customs just to add another on the menu of Cuban cigars. Seems some guys use other cigar names for size reference. I only care about smoking 'em.
Have known guys here for years now, including Canuck.
Whatever.
Have a great smoke tonight!

Late to the party, yes. Newbie, no. But then again, you know that.
You always seems to have a stick wedged somewhere? What gives?
