Shipping from Mexico

Anybody receive cigars from Mexico? Is it the same as getting cigars from Europe going through customs, also is it better to get DHL shipping?

I've gotten cigars from Mexico that were smuggled across then shipped by UPS from San Diego.  I paid a premium but no risk. I would think US Customs would give packages from Mexico a little more scrutiny than packages from Europe but I don't know for sure.

That's what I'm thinking also, my friend was gonna send me just about 5 cigars, maybe if he send it was some other stuff I don't know
