Donald Trump opinions

Post by Cohim »

His speech about banning Muslims from coming into the US. This is not a new concept, and something similar was done during WW2. I'm positive it would be an effective way to slow terrorism in the US. I don't think the American people have the stomach to go this route, especially with the racist undertones. Liberals are going to have a field day with the Don. I sort of understand his reasonings. Isis is a Muslim terrorist group, block Muslims from coming into the states. Problem solved. Good suffer for the bad.

I'm sure someone here has a better idea.

Not the perfect candidate by a long shot but still infinitely more qualified than anyone the other side is proposing.

Let's also keep his comment about immigration in it's proper context. He's saying to stop the flow of Muslim immigrants UNTIL we can figure out what is going on and are able to properly vet these people. Hardly an extremist view IMO considering the world climate.

I'm into my 12th out of 15 month mark here in Afghanistan....and I'll tell you what, it wouldn't be a bad idea for us to slow down and figure some things out regarding how we go about accepting ANY individual(s) from countries like Afghanistan, Syria, etc.  There are some people with extreme views (and I mean EXTREME views) on religion trying to obtain visas to the United States.  A better vetting process needs to be in place imo.....
It's one thing to be stupid, it's dangerous for a stupid person to think he's smart

This would violate the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment.

Didn't we just build a huge new Naval battleship ?  Load it up.... let's clean house and anyone here with radical ties or extremist views, gets deported.  All through life, I have paid for someone else's bad behaviors or fuck-ups... and this should be no different, considering American lives are at stake.

If there's is one thing I actually agree with Trump on, its his ideas on immigration and refugees.  We let way too many radicals come into this country.  They even stated this AM that the California couple were both radicalized, and they got into this country through normal means and obtained weapons easily.

Personally, I think the US is a nation of pussies, we are no longer a superpower under the current presidency, and when forced, we will jsut lie down and take it up the cornpipe--like we have seen for the past 7 years.  Not to mention the fact that our borders are weak, military is stretched thin, and the guy in charge is a huge dopey dummy.

You can't stop there, all educational and work visas stop along with flights to and out of those countries.

The first amendment doesn't apply to people who aren't even here in the first place.  I have yet for someone to provide where illegals already here have any constitutional protection.  Those who are citizens or on visas, that's another story entirely, but has nothing to do with what The Donald is advocating here, but don't let that get in the way of people hating on him for it.

The Free Exercise Clause is a negative restriction on the American government -- not a positive proclamation for individuals. The negative restriction would therefore yield liberties for citizens and non-citizens alike.
