It's just a personal preference. To me, sticks seem to require less re-lights and burn better. Take 2 sticks, smoke one then the same stick after dry boxing it for 2 days. See which you prefer.

I once read that Pete Johnson recommends his cigars be smoked at around 70-72% Rh because of the swelling that takes place during the burn and that it minimizes wrapper issues. I found this interesting considering I prefer them at 62 or less.

Just throw the stick in a old cedar cigar box that is not humidified.
Be sure and make deposits in all areas of your life, because at some point you will need to make a withdraw. No deposits are more important than those made in relationships.

If I get some new smokes (say, less than a year from boxcode), and I REALLY want to try one, I'll dry box it for a day or 4 (your mileage may vary), before digging in.  It all depends on the smoke - some are ready to go and seem to like a higher RH generally (HdM, HU Mags, Padrons, Fuentes), while others smoke better in drier conditions (younger HU, PL, or RA).

A good drybox is handy for certain times of the year in the southeast!

I rarely dry box anymore because my go to humidor are already at the low 60s but when I did us just pop a cigar in a coffin for a day or two. Depends on what your ambient rh is. If it's super humid out then it won't do much for ya.
