Selling for "friend" posts

Post by tstoner86 »

Translation? They are mine but this way I can gouge or pass of expired/poorly stored/fake cigars.

Lmfao. Gimme a break.

Let's just outlaw these type of posts.

No Mom those cigarettes aren't mine. I'm holding them for a friend. If anyone believes that crap I know a prince from Nigeria who's trying to give away $50,000,000.lol

Agreed. If you can't stand behind or personally vouche for what you are selling, then it shouldn't be allowed.
Be sure and make deposits in all areas of your life, because at some point you will need to make a withdraw. No deposits are more important than those made in relationships.

Also agree.  Either its your product and you stand behind it, or tell "your friend" to join up and post it himself and he should stand behind it.  But hiding behind "the friend" cloak to gouge or pass off inferior product while trying to keep your own reputation safe is just bullshit.  There are probably a few widow-friends exceptions, but I am certain that those are few and far between (and can be validated).
Hey! How come "Habana" is written on here with a Sharpie ?!?

Sadly I will be one of these people shortly... selling some cigars of a friend that passed away recently that I am doing as a favor for his widow. They might not hit this site though as they are random NC's, Fuente etc and some yard gars.

And while I do agree some of the "selling for a friend" is BS, I imagine there are legit ones out there.  Talking to a couple friends over the years that wanted to sell some cigars, I offered to sell as I'm on the forums and they aren't.  I would always stand behind what I sell, but I can see it happening.  If a seller won't stand behind what they're selling, then they shouldn't do it.

Ugh that sucks. Obviously there are exceptions.

If you are actually selling for a friend, why tell people?
I'm pretty sure the fact you are selling them for someone else is irrelevant unless the price is WAY high/you don't know how they've been stored, you can guarantee they're real and you're afraid it'll ruin your rep.
If you are concerned about any of those things, why agree to help sell them in the first place?

I am truly selling them for a friend of mine that is not on this site.  I told him about the site and about someone selling their boxes for $425 and he asked me if I would sell it on here for him.  Instead of being so quick to rip on someone, how about asking the person first.  If they were mine, I would have said FS... I have sold other items on here and wouldn't hesitate to sell more.  I have my own box and I thought I was doing my friend a favor.  I listed it the way it should be listed.  because I'm sure if someone would have asked me if I could come down in price and I answered that I'd have to ask the owner of the box first, I'd have gotten questioned for that as well.
All I ask is that you make an educated statement rather than an ignorant assumption.

glad everyone here is so quick to judge and come to a conclusion.  I am truly selling them for a friend of mine that is not on this site.  I told him about the site and about someone selling their boxes for $425 and he asked me if I would sell it on here for him.  Instead of being so quick to rip on someone, how about asking the person first.  I find it funny that people must find fault in something.  If they were mine, I would have said FS... I have sold other items on here and wouldn't hesitate to sell more.  I have my own box and I thought I was doing my friend a favor.  I listed it the way it should be listed.  because God knows if someone would have asked me if I could come down in price and I answered that I'd have to ask the owner of the box first, I'd have gotten crap for that as well.
