um, really, you think you need to? :rotf:

Baby steps here, we wouldn't want to have to gut the teams too quickly:
NFLPA president Eric Winston wrote in a letter to players. "Each week of the season, 5 players on 8 teams will be tested. No testing will occur on game days. We negotiated to ensure that the methodology of testing be conducted in the most professional and safest manner for players. Importantly, after three years of negotiating, players won the right to challenge any aspect of the science behind the HGH isoforms test in an appeal of a positive test." :bla:
As opposed to cycling, where you're out on your ass as soon as the A and B samples come back positive. What a crock this is.
NFL to begin testing for HGH...

By the NFLPA agreeing to be tested for HGH isn't that how Welker got a reduced suspension?

Completely worthless boondoggle. Athletes will always find an illegal edge. HGH is tough to detect. Oy! I wish they would just let athletes take whatever they want. At the end of the day, the ones who excel without drugs, will be the same champs at the end of the day with drugs. It's the champion mindset, persistence, dedication, etc., that champions are made of. All the drugs in the world can't make an average Joe into a world class athlete. My humble opinion of course.

Can everyone be required to take PEDs so that it's a level playing field

It's kind of that way now, just not spoken.
What's going to be funny about this one is that the average NFL player is still stupid enough to get busted. Just watch.
If they had this silly system in cycling there wouldn't be anyone tested positive to date.

Re: NFL to begin testing for HGH...
Remember the old ESPN show Playmakers? There was an episode all about the "pissman" and the main character the dude from Wild and Crazy Kids who happens to be Cuba Gooding Jrs brother was all strung out more on crack/weed then any PEDs. Any way the reason that show got pulled was the NFL decided to swing around its big dick and make ESPN pull it. The NFL has become too big for its own good

The nature of extreme competition demands agents / PEDs that can help with recovery as one puts their body through hell. Only the stupid, generally speaking, get busted. Many have smart docs and chemists on the sidelines that can take a banned substance such as Dianabol for example and tweak a molecule here and there so that it's both effective for the athlete and undetectable at the same time. There are so many anabolics that didn't make it to market due to market saturation and no need or profitability to introduce newfangled androgenic/anabolic agents. So many that, with connections to the right folks and right chem houses, it's easily accessible (off the grid PEDs), not to mention peptides, insulin, prostaglandins, etc. It's truly a science project experiment at the elite levels. These folks are going to spend years trying to become the best in their given sport and then drop out because of banned drugs. The bar is raised, and they will meet it every time. Not always a healthy endeavor of course, but the pure reality. They aren't going to drop out after so many years of training and competing and go back to college to get a Bachelor's degree in accounting. Nobody goes from millions in contacts and endorsements to work the 9-5. It's the antithesis of what they are committed to. My 2 cents. If you want to get really crazy, check out what bodybuilders are experimenting with like substance such as Dinitrophenol! Crazy...absolutely off the reservation nuts. Such is the mindset of folks who won't blink at an opportunity to spare lean muscle mass and lose fat via DNP. :o ???
