Sum Dum Fuk

Post by likescarsz28 »

Is what I am.

July 23, ortho surgeon says two of the four muscles in your shoulder are full thickness tears, you have bone spurs and your labrum has turned into candy floss. I tell him to go ahead and fix it. He schedules me for surgery on 7/30 and I bust my ass getting all of the stuff done I can bvefore I go under the knife. Of course, I fuck up my shoulder worse.

I figure a couple of weeks of getting the wiffe to wait on me hand and foot would be a treat and good as new.

I had no idea what I was getting into. It was/is a motherfucker. I thought I was a tough guy. Since it had been many years since the last time, I guess it was time for another "humbling" experience.

Sorry to hear about that.
I had a similar experience when I detached my right distal biceps tendon. Sports surgeon schedules me for reattachment surgery. No worries, like you, I'm a tough guy.
Having had a number of sports-related injuries and surgeries before, figured this surgery would be as easy to recoup from as the others. I was wrong....
After the local wore off, I was eating methacarbomol and oxycodone like Pez, just to get to sleep. In a brace for eight weeks, and PT for ten. As the weather gets colder, I feel some of the pain come back - six years later.
Hope you have a quick and complete recovery.

I have had frozen shoulder twice. "Also called Adhesive capsulitis, is a condition characterized by stiffness and pain in your shoulder joint. Signs and symptoms typically begin gradually, worsen over time and then resolve, usually within one or two years."

Three months of this time I had to sleep in a chair because I would scream if I lay down. I could not lift my arm past my waist for months. You freeze up over time and then thaw out. It takes about a year. It hurts like a son of a bitch and really, other than very aggressive physio at beginning to just get a move on, not much you can do.

So, all I can say is, I can relate brother and please feel better. Make sure your smoking arm is mobile.

Great coffee, cigars and whiskey. Love them all.

So the physical therapy and exercise program has stalled out and my range of motion is unsatisfactory. The PT lady tells me that she is going to tell the ortho surgeon that I need "manual manipulation". I google it on my phone and tell her "thanks, have a great life, I am outta here!" Anyone experience this procedure?
