Need Cigar Suggestions

Post by EVH12345 »

I'm relatively new to cigars and have become quite fond on Padrons, especially the 1964 series. I'm looking for something comparable to broaden my horizons. Any suggestions?

Keep on smoking,

Not sure if you'll find anything quite like a 64, and you don't say if you like the natties of maddies, but you might look into Fuente products or Pete J's products, (Tats, Gabiguans etc).  Not necessarily the same flavor profile, but same high quality.  And guys who smoke a lot of Padron often smoke a lot of these as well.  Good luck!

Padron has a pretty unique flavor profile.  Try their regular line in both natural and maduro and you may find a good smoke at a good price.

Fuente makes great sticks, lots of people like the Hemingway and Don Carlos lines.  I find them a bit mild for my tastes.  Try the Chateau Sungrowns.  Sungrown Double Chateau used to be fantastic.

On the other hand I happen to like Diamond Crowns.  Contrary to popular opinion I do not find them to be "mild", quite the contrary, I find them to be a very smooth full flavored smoke, but the price keeps me from buying many.  At that price point I can smoke Espli's so why bother.

I've not smiked too many of Pepin's sticks, (he makes Tats for Pete along with a number of other Pepin banded sticks) but the ones that I have had were in general very good.

I agree with the choices above, definitely cant go wrong with those. I'd also add Oliva to the list though they aren't too similar to padrons, they have some great blends.

Oliva, Padilla, Tatuaje, Don Pepin Garcia... all Nicaraugan blends like the Padrons only waaaaaay better, imo.
