I don't think that justifies each shot, when cops have tasers and other non-deadly means to diffuse the situation or stop a man who didn't have a weapon and has their hands up and was some distance away.
Did that cross the line of safety and go into murder? Just because he's a cop doesn't mean he's above murder. Now whether his hands were up or not, or whether he had raised them then dropped them to go after the cop, that's up to a jury at this point, but I hope he gets a trial.

Actually, in this country, unfortunately, being a cop usually [i]does[/i] place you above murder charges. Most killer cops, historically, have been shielded by their departments and charged with crimes that are far shy of second degree murder. This reduces the city/county/state's liability.
