Traders comments in profiles ....

:tears:  I've finally concentrated on this and I've been working on it for the last 5 hours or so.  Once upon a time we had that capability here (click on my profile and you'll see some of them) but then I did a big update to the board software and some of the stuff wasn't reverse compatible and things mucked up.

The problem I've had is that somehow there was an incomplete uninstall of the old package, so I've had random bits of code floating in my .php files that scrambled all of my attempts to install an update to the profile comments mod and one of the sites files failed to update at some point and it is crucial to the operation of the package. 

I've dug up and replaced 2 files that weren't current versions, uploaded the profile comments php filed and manually edited all of the associated template/source/language files.

Results as of now...

We can now see comments that were made prior to the snafu
We cannot post comments  :finger:

Seems that the newest version of the code is asking for something that it isn't finding in the databese.  Looking over the code I think I may be able to just edit out the $approval requests since there is no approval process here (we really want bad traders to get comments)

I think I'm going to bed soon but I hope to have a fix in the next day or so.

I had to fix some edits and then modify the mySQL database gut it looks like it is working again.

The point to all of this is that you can now put traders comments into peoples profiles so you no longer have to rely on posts to the Traders Comments board.

Yes, I know you see two sets of comments.  I have no idea where they are being generated from right now.

I know that the first set that does not have the posters avatar next to it is being generated by the code that is left over from 2 yrs ago but I've not had any luck finding it (that and I've been working on the chat mod)

I have yet to be able to find or use this feature- trader's comments within one's profile.  Could someone spell it out for me?

Click on the persons name and if they have comments it will show up at the bottom of their profile.

You have no comments!

and to add a comment click on the big "Add Comment" button at the bottom of their profile.
