Odd pressed cigars, AKA vacuum sealer damage.

I screwed up 2 partial boxes, while vacuum sealing for long term storage until my Aristocrat gets here. Will these cigars pop back into shape? Some the cigars got pressed flat like those Acid wafers, while others have indentations. Is there a way to get them back into shape?

I'm sure I'm not the only idiot to have done this, and if I am y'all can learn from my stupidity.

Lesson's learned: Do not over vacuum seal dress, or cardboard boxes. Stout wooden boxes do fine, and so do cabinets. Don't drink and vacuum, it leads to tears. :tears:

Pop them open, put in thin cigar boxes and reseal, so that they're sealed but loose and can bounce back, or get a tupperdor? They may not pop back into their original shape, but they might smoke fine. Cigars get box pressed by pressure, yours are just "custom" shaped :)

Yeah, you might even want to do this intentionally to some LP#9s or Unicos and then sell them as part of an "extremely limited release". :rotf:

I have a box of Boli Lonsdales and a box of RASS that I did this to also when I first started vacuum sealing. They smoke fine. Actually more than fine, the box of RASS ended up looking like those silly LFD Factory Press cigars but is smoking really well.

Didn't seem to impact the draw at all. But didn't really bounce back much, even after a year of being stored normally.

Thank's for all the great advise. Just got back from a cruise. I smoked through the 15 Bolivars, and smoked most of the Por Laranagas. They smoked perfectly, even though the Bolivars looked like a culebra (sp?). LOL!!! I even made a trip to Casa del Habanos in Cozumel.Bought a cool ashtray, and a fancy shirt, and a bunch of cigars I always wanted to try but have never bought. Awesome trip, and I carried my Casa bags through customs in my hand, got a strange look, but was waived through with no problems. It helps when you have 4 kids all "sport bitching" about being tired. LMAO!!!

Cruise are the easiest way to bring back CC's. The only problem with LCDH in the cruise path...the prices. Yikes.
