I have said it before and I will say it again, if you go this route with your payments you are hanging it out there with zero, zip, nada, nothing for recourse if you discover that you have been taken.
According to PP you just gave someone a gift, you expected nothing in return, so getting nothing is not their problem. Kind of stupid to avoid a 3 or 4% fee if you ask me. (I've never used it, I always add 4% to the total on my payments to most individuals)
So if you purchased anything from the latest manifestation of OLH Herpes and you used gift, you are f'd. :owned:
Learn a lesson here folks. :horse:

That is why I merely deal with the scumbags, and friends of scumbags. That way I know exactly what to expect.
Joking aside. Your point is valid, and I will be sure I'm careful from now on.

Exactly....unless you're a well established member here or anywhere else, hell no to the gift method.

Re: Pay Pal Gift
Question for some of the more knowledgable members:
If I buy a box or a 5er, or whatever... and I pay with the goods & services option, not F&F, and I have to later on try to get my $ back. Do they contact the seller as well to try to 'arbitrate' the dispute? Or do they just take my word for it and issue a refund? I ask because let's say the seller is one of these repeat scammer douchebags. I would think he or she would have no problem burning the PP acct used, and could say that the 'merchandise' bought was tobacco. From my understanding, PP would then freeze the acct, right? So what happens to my money then? Do they also freeze my acct, and not issue a refund? I'm not saying using the G&S option is a bad thing... just curious?
If this is too much to discuss on an open board, I'll understand and edit the content immediately.
TIA

Life is a learning curve. If you do a little research and ask someone, or people you trust, things usually work out fine. If the person you are dealing with is suspect, my advise to you is that they send their end first, given that you have a stellar reputation.
In the end, it's all about trust.....
I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply, Cohim. Yeah, no doubt everything online is about trust. And when it comes to me spending my money, I believe 'due diligence' is my responsibility.
My question was more of a rhetorical one. I'm sure this situation has happened. I would like to know what PP does in that situation?

If PayPal see you have used your account to purchase tobacco they lock your account and the sellers for 160 days. If you have funds on there it is lock up until then. They do not allow any sales of tobacco using their service. So in short you have no recourse anyway

What about sites like pipesandcigars.com that accept Paypal? Does the rule apply only to private parties?

If you have the proper licenses, submit them to PalPay and are approved, they will allow you to sell tobacco as long as you can pay them an annual fee plus the usual percentages of tax transaction.
