Winter Smoking - Air Cleaners

Post by BootCampBob »

Just wondering what everyone does during the winter months, when it's difficult to get a nice day to smoke outside.
Is there a preferred air cleaner / filter for removing smoke from indoor areas? I hear the Csonka's work well, but don't hold up well over time.
Aside from candles, fans and opening windows, does anyone have recommendations on a good air filter at a good price?

Thanks for the tip. Yeah, it IS pricey, but I'm looking for something good and durable.

I've seen mixed reviews on the Csonka Smoker Cloakers. Most say they work well but don't hold up for very long. Most of those posts were made a few years back, so maybe they've improved their products.

It's just too damned cold to sit outside and smoke here during the winter - not to mention what cold air does to wrapper leaves.  :-\

I am looking at the Rabbit Air.  My gf hates smoke since she's allergic.  If it's confined to one single room with a Rabbit air with the door closed while smoking how effective is it at riding the smoke smell?

From what I've read, 2 years is a good long life on the Csonka.
Got mine last week. So far, so good. It even eats the smell of the candles I burn to cover/eliminate the smoke.
The fan is an easy fix - you can get a replacement at a computer shop. That little fan is from a PC - size of a GPU cooling fan. $10.00 should find a viable replacement for it. The rest of the unit, I'm not sure - haven't really looked that closely at it.

It's not. And I've owned the 780 (model) rabitt aire for two years. Plus I have a heated/ventilated lounge. The rabitt aire is just back up. A room is going to smell regardless. I clean my lounge every 2 weeks. Hardwood floors, bar top and leather chairs. All get wiped down.
The Csonkas work to dilute lingering smells to next to nothing. But my 2 year old unit is on the brink of fan failure. The Ozone is destroying the electrical components in it.
