I remember working in a gas station years ago, and a lot of ex-military/law enforcement guys would take their coffee black. I used to think to myself
are these Mofo's Crazy? *lol* Well a couple of days ago, I started drinking mine
black! I'd been buying big 2-2.5lb bags of dark/french roasted coffee from
Sams or Costco's but now I'm brewing Micro Roasts from Tonx which are about
4 days old when the beans reach me.
Drinking fresh brewed coffee has opened a whole new world to me so to speak! :)
How do you guys take your coffee?
I just ordered a couple of different beans that I've always wanted to try and left it up to the roaster to choose the best way to roast them. (I prefer med-dark/french roasts) so I'm excited about what I'm about to experience!
Black Coffee is not so bad....

I use to drink french roast. But lately since moving to portland. I have really gotten into the lighter roasts. They let the flavor of the bean come out more rather than only tasting the dark roast flavor. Oh and I only drink black coffee. :)

Black is the only way to drink coffee. My wife drinks hers with 2 sugar and 2 cream and i always ask her why? Its not because you like the taste of coffee because with sugar and cream in it that just ruins the flavor.
I drink coffee for the taste of the coffee. Therefore it's black all the way.

Zepp I'd be open to doing this also. Maybe we can trade in 2oz (proper sampler)
increments.... If you're interested let me know. I should receive my order between saturday and monday.

I roast my own at home; in a popcorn popper! Very micro roast, I can only do 1/4 lb at a time, but it comes out amazing. I usually roast on the lighter side of things, and I only drink it black.

When I grow up, I want to be like you Max! I've been looking for one of those 1500w Poppers for a long time, but still haven't come across one. It would be
so much cheaper to roast at the house, and just buy green beans. I also need
to buy another Moka Pot too... I have one but it's in my storage unit.
Which yields more Caffeine? A lighter roast or a darker one?

The most caffeine comes from robusta and tastes like burned tires and old motor oil. Go for the flavor and let the caffeine happen.
