Ice storms SUCK!!!

Post by atomross13 »

Well I have now went through the third ice storm (second major one) since I moved into my house in 2002. This one was not as bad as 2003, as power was only off for 3 days (so far) and no trees fell. And we just got 2 inches of F'n snow today!!

Australia is looking better every day!

Damn bro, sorry to hear it.  I know what it's like.  We were without power for 4 days about 6 weeks ago due to a horrible ice storm.  Luckily, when I had my house built I had a trans-switch wired in and connected the well pump, heat, fridge, TV in the livingroom and a few misc lights into it.  This past Summer my transformer was hit by lightning and we were without power for 4 days as well.  I had no generator then though and just had to tough it out.  Sux!  Hope things return to normal for you now that you're back on the grid.

My inlaws in NH lost power for 11 days and didn't get phone/internet for over 3 weeks!

Not as bad as a hurricane (buildings were not blown down) but still was a PITA.

Looking out the window and at the radar, we're getting slushy snow in RI tonight.  Wifey is up in NH at the inlaws and they are getting 6" of new stuff  :tears:
