Partagas Lusitania Fakes

Been seeing more of these in NY recently

Band is a lighter red ... almost dark pink with a thin wrap.

The band , on the shield ... the whites were off and shifted to the side.

Another version with better bands ... a couple of shades of red lighter than genuine with the same emblems issue ... These I saw these a few months ago, lit it up and was WTF. Took a closer look and noticed the shields ... followed by ripping the cigar open ... was surprised to see all long filler. The box was actually opened while I was at the lounge ... had all the usual date codes, stamps as well as papers and cedar. This version was rolled well and had a thicker wrapper.

Anyone else been seeing these?

I still have one of the two sticks I was gifted so if you guys want I can post pics of label, filler ect.

Would love to see some pics and learn more of the provenance of these cigars. Partagas being one of the most popular marcas on the island, and DC sized cigars commanding a higher dollar value than their smaller counterparts, I suppose there is some attraction to counterfeiting these.  Yet one would think that as the LE/RE production smokes bring an even higher dollar amount per stick than DC's, and many would require less tobacco leaf to manufacture, that the thieves would be mass producing these and not regular manufacture smokes.  But then, perhaps employing logic isn't these scammer's strong suit.

Anyway, I'd be real interested in seeing those pics and learning more. Thanks for the post!

The registration between the printed colors on those bands is way off. I am pretty convinced that you can buy anything in NY, but whether its authentic is always the biggest question. 

Just to satisfy my curiosity, what do fakes like this cost in NY?

No idea ... I was given two from my friend ... What troubles me is, I've heard there's really good cohiba fakes floating around ...

I've smokes these before and thought they weren't anything special ... now I'm wondering did I smoke a fake? Most of my CC's come from Uk or Ch ... but the maduro double I have no idea where that's from since it was also a gifted stick. I do recall everything looking perfect. Tasted CC just muted flavors and boring.

I noticed the lack of fakes online ... esp the good ones to compare to.I'd like to start a CC fake Album with the harder to tell fakes ... Large detailed shots.

If anyone wants to contribute I will upload shots of fake bands to sticks ect. as you send them.

I'm gonna try to pickup a stick of those cohibas mads.

What bothered me was, this is where a few of my buddies buy cc's and was recommended by them yesterday ... so as soon as I looked ... and saw the P lucy as it was 3 months fresh in my head. I called him out on it. He had no clue, so i gave him one of my legit Partagas labels off a stick and I could tell he had no idea he had fakes. He did have a couple of hoyo doubles c's and bolivar bfc's that were legit.

So I feel compelled to get this album going.

There are no Maduro Double Corona Limitada.

There is an 03 Cohiba Limitada Double Corona. It has a dark wrapper, but its not referred to as a Maduro in the description...however, I am not sure if it uses a maduro wrapper or not.  The ones on the flickr page look alot like the real ones pictured on the CCW.
