I've been looking forever for a wine-a-dor. I mean FOREVER. Writing desperate pleas on CF and here for years, begging someone, anyone, to help me put together a set and forget cigar cooler. Nothing. Silence. Rocky Patel would have a better chance of winning People Magazine's Sexiest Man of the Year than me finding a wine-a-dor for under a grand.
I'd look longingly at ads in CA for products whose names I couldn't pronounce and whose prices I couldn't possibly afford. I'd read posts from smokers who bought boxes of Siglo IVs the 90's that they're just getting around to smoking now because they stored them carefully and patiently in their temperature- and climate-controlled storage units. while houseboys mix their mojitos with mint flown in from the Vuelte Abajo.
Then one day I checked in here. What is this? A 28-bottle wine-a-dor with custom shelves and drawers? The seller lives in my state? And he's selling it for $300?!?!
Fast forward to me sitting in Walt's living room, enjoying a well-aged RASS as we finally get a chance to meet after years of trying to hook up for a smoke in RI. He's got the unit all set up for me to take home. He helps me carry it to the car, I drive home, set it up in minutes, then sit back and stare in amazement at my cigars, previously scattered like the Lost Tribe of Israel to the various humidors in my house, now comfortably housed in one unit, arranged so I can pull out a particular smoke without spending 15 minutes tearing through each humidor before collapsing in resignation and smoking my 8th or 9th favorite cigar.
And I can't begin to tell you how grateful I'll be come summer, when I don't have to check my cigars every hour with the single-minded intensity of a tweeker looking for black helicopters for the telltale signs of beetles hatching in an environment more suited to conducting Native American Sweat Lodge rituals for bored housewives than the proper storage of my beloved stash.
So here's to you, Walt, for giving me the greatest gift any smoker could ask for: a place to put cigars where you don't have to worry about them. Ever.
[size=30pt][size=10pt]THANKS WALT!!!
:cheers:

(Those are his cigars. I'm not smart enough to figure out how to post a pic here)
