Hey leo...
"BZ would not be a good idea ?" Please explain.
I got a good laugh reading your spoof thread....especially when I got to the 50 cab of Fundadores for $4000. Thanks for the morning humor :)
But the above quote kinda threw me. Was that a kind of a sideways threat ?
TIA

Re: Bon Vivant's cigar sale ?
Have to admit I was wondering the same thing myself. I understand he is a well respected member in some circles but his post amounts to:
"I know these are rediculously high prices that my friend is charging, but if you know what's good for you you'll shadup about it!"
Without getting into the whole "Just move along" VS. "Out the gougers" debate, what makes you so special sir?

Knuck...
I'm pretty sure that the post was a goof. I doubt that someone with leo's experience would serious be trying to sell at those prices, even "for a friend"...that was worth a laugh too :)
If indeed he is, though, I really have no comment about the stupidly high prices. I'm of the school that feels that "if the price is too high, don't buy", and that "gouging" relates to necessities. Non-essentials, like cigars, will and should be priced where the market can bear. A buyer makes the decision whether the price is too high for them...if I'm not the buyer, I have no basis to bitch.
But I really AM curious about the BZ comment :)

Funny...for a change, I just read the post, laughed and moved on, like many have suggested... I figured I would let someone else say something in the BZ...

Don't know what to think. Some of the stuff posted in the thread is reasonably priced. The 50 cab of 1994 Boli Corona Gigantes would probably be worth somewhere in the $2K area. Same for some of the '94 stuff-a bit overpriced but not outlandish. Some of the other stuff however ..... Makes me wonder whether it is a serious post or not.

But I really AM curious about the BZ comment
Well, if this is the case he broke the TBSC rules. Please refer to Rule #6 below.

If this is indeed a joke then it is the second time that Rule #6 has been broken in the last several months with no consequences handed out by Wade. Perhaps he has changed his position on this. ???

Re: Bon Vivant's cigar sale ?
Just looked at the July 4th auction page...
'99 Boli CG 50 went for 550 GBP ($888 US)
Someone educate me... What's a BCR? Centenary release perhaps, but that year doesn't seem right. Corona Royal instead of calling it a Royal Corona?

I personally think its a typo... according to the site below, there have been no Boli releases called CR's, so I can only assume it was meant to be RC's.
Lots of great info here:
http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.aspx?brand=Bol|ivar
besides, its starting to look like the whole thing was meant to be a joke. Maybe if someone bites, he will sell a box or 2 at those prices... if he took those boxes off his inventory list, all I can say is...MUST BE NICE.
...and he must be dancing around, with that sort of inventory of aged smokes...

Re: Bon Vivant's cigar sale ?
my take is he has the smokes in his collection...throws out these crazy prices as a joke and if someone so happens to bite on one he sells it...a no lose situation since most will think he is playing a joke...and he can use it as a crutch...
if its a joke its a very lame and unfunny one...if it isnt he should have the balls to just post his prices and not fill it with the pre-emptive strike at the possible backlash...it stinks all the way around.

Re: Bon Vivant's cigar sale ?
Kinda what I thought Todd...RC not CR.
I don't think its a joke.
If this is true inventory, would be better off moving them to the Winter 2011 auction.
