yep, going by box codes & dates given, a lot of these look like they were from "the sale". a couple of 'em look like they passes along the break they got, but many sold for full box price.

is it right to charge full price in exchange for taking the risk of ordering? guess that's up to each to decide, but to me NO WAY. offering a split would've been more in the spirit of the cigar community IMHO.

not to be an ass or anything, but i think "the risk" is an overplayed card. if you deal w/a vendor you trust not to cough up your info, that's a start. but most of The Letters i've heard about have come from the payment method used. if you use an alternate payment method, especially one that can't be traced directly to you, i figure the risk is minimal. there's still a chance of a random customs check, but i think you'd have to have bad luck or bad karma to get hit there.

now that the info's out there in the community for people to read, it's up to them to read it. hopefully they will & not be taken advantage of by the people trying to turn a hobby into a buisness.

He posted an ISO on another board today. Kind of strange for a guy that's getting out of the hobby no? Any way of finding out if this guy is using a different handle and still posting here? I don't even know if there's a rule against it. I just ask as I can see him using a different handle to post ISO's here and I would hate to accidently help the douchebag out.

IP address would be the same on the new handle as on the old. There are enough cyber-wise BOTLs on the boards so that guys that have tried to pull this off in the past have been vetted out. Check out the SBL sometime on vitolas.net to see for yourself. Perhaps someone can check into this or knows someone that can.
