There were auction sites before? Or there was some rush on aged stuff? I’m honestly curious, if you don’t mind elaborating for someone still pretty new to it all.

He means HSA across-the-board price increases on new production.
People are conflating the high auction prices on aged/vintage with the price increases for new production stuff. I don't know why, I don't buy into the thinking that the one is causing the other.
People forget the significant price drops we saw in 2002-2003, and 2012-2013. If we're lucky, that history might repeat sometime in the future.

Hell, with those HSA increases some boxes are going for cheaper on Bond Roberts than they are on the 24:24s.

Depends on what your looking for. I have already found some solid deals/steals on what I was looking for.

$316 for a cab of shorts of reg production smokes? WTF
How did it go from 205 on sale to that in a matter of a few weeks?
Out of control.....I've seen increases over the years but I don't ever remember short period jumps like that in the past.

2008 Partagas 898 went for $580 yesterday. Very reasonable price for that box. Wish I didn't have four boxes in-bound or I would have snagged that box.

I’ve found this to be the case as well! I finally completed an RE set with an old box that I couldn’t find ANYWHERE, and honestly for way cheaper than I would have happily paid.

I made 2 purchases on BR early on that were steals. People were asleep at the wheel. Not anymore. Its high roll indeed.

15 CoRo Tubos, El Laguito factory, 2016 box date: $310 on BR
15 CoRo Tubos, not El Laguito, 2021 box date: $464 from Ravi
15 CoRo cardboard pack, 2020 box date: $369 on FOH 24:24
All you whiners about crazy auction prices can STFU.
