As stated in the title, a place to discuss cigars and things related to them.

What a piece of shit,  feigning ignorance is one thing, but once so many people have given you more than enough information to "do the right thing" you sit there and argue and cry about character assassination, you did yourself in, I have a feeling a lot of people here wouldn't buy a cigar off you now if they cut the seals and opened the box themselves, nice job.  On top of that you're a Chargers fan.

FWIW, I have had many dealings with Moises on some very rare and expensive items and he has come through every time.  That being said, in the case of these 98 fundies, I would be extremely skeptical, as I have had personal experience with these cigars from him as well.  Hope nobody gets burned.

This post is puzzling. So some of his rarities are fine and others are not?

I've watched Chargerfan logged in several times reading.  Looks like he has no other comments on his own thread.  The cigars are sold.  He is just hoping it stays quiet now.

Yes, I've logged on to check the thread, but have struggled with how to reply to being called a piece of shit, etc.  I wanted to keep my responses as objective as possible.

I posted that the cigars were bought from an LCDH, which I figured was a solid source. I was then told that this particular store did not always have a solid story, and some have experienced some shady dealings. OK. So with a questionable story about the provenance of the cigars, I contacted IEPT to get to the bottom of it. I was told by the LCDH they found some cigars, but then heard that is not possible. I figured no better way to find out if any funny business was going on than to speak with them directly. I was PM'ed the name of Bernardo as a possible contact name, and it ended up being the person I was forwarded to.

When starting the thread, the history was given as I was told. After speaking with Bernardo, he confirmed that they purchased the cigars, and packaged them in the cardboard, and that was the reason for the unique packaging. He didn't elaborate on whether the stock he purchased were contained in boxes and then transferred, it might have been a language barrier issue.  I didn't press, because he assured me that he had total confidence in the authenticity.

Once I spoke with IEPT, it did make comfortable enough with the authenticity of the sticks enough to bump the thread. It was not done out of spite, directed at the feedback contained here.

Also, prior to bumping, I had 2 people who had already purchased. I made them both aware of the feedback here, and offered both a refund prior to shipping if they had reservations. Neither accepted the offer.

The original objective of the thread was to determine the pricing for 98 fundy's, while authentic, that were not in the original boxes. I certainly appreciate the efforts of everyone to ensure the authenticity of these, and it was not me going against everyones advice.

Publicly, in this thread, there were multiple posts suggesting these were fake, questionable, etc. Privately, I received feedback stating opposing views.

I'm fully aware that many would question the provenance of the sticks, and because of that would not be interested in purchasing. I would fully support that view every day of the week. No problems there. But for those who did not have a problem, I was making an attempt at correct pricing based on the history.

Yes, I don't know how hard that is to understand.  Supposedly, these cigars are sketchy, there really is no way to prove it. Buying them and smoking is the only way I guess.

Charger fan: what you say may all be true. I guess the point that I would make is that if I were selling these cigars I would point out the issues raised here in the post selling the cigars so that prospective buyers would be made aware of the concerns prior to purchasing them. To the general public on this board there was nothing about the provenance(or lack thereof) posted in the sale site. One had to go to the BZ to find out that there were issues with these cigars.

If I were selling 1998 Trinidad's with that history of boxing/lack of codes, etc... I would make sure that my post reflected these issues so that the buyers would not be able to come back at a later time and question the cigars (and also to avoid the issues raised here).

I am not criticizing you for selling the cigars. I am criticizing you for not posting the concerns raised here in the BZ in your sale post to insure that the buyers knew what they were buying and could make their own educated choice whether to buy or not.

Agree 100%.  My issue all along was the fact he was not sharing this information as he was selling them.  If nothing else I learned about this seller and how much I would want to trust his word in the future without proof.
