Hmmm...I tried to buy 10 cigars from him...sent the 100 clams, and he had 3 weeks to ship out before my vacation. When nothing came, I told him to hold the shipment until I returned. I just got back this past weekend. I will reach out to him and see if he stands behind my order.

Uh that's doubtful, gone since 11/22 bro hasn't checked in since and ripped off everyone who has posted here.  Your chances are 0% just file a claim and good luck.

Safe to say that your 100 clams either went up in smoke, or up his nose...

Sounds like it, but I sent messages anyway. Live and learn. I had a successful deal with him a few months ago. See what happens.
*edit*
In the interests of accuracy, I ordered from him November 7th, and left town on the 17th, so he actually had 10 days to at least reach out and contact me before the trip...so it has been a full month with nothing happening but me sending polite messages down a dead wire...

You don't.  People are call "con men" because "con" is an abbreviation of "confidence".  The idea is to gain your confidence, then take you to the cleaners.

Now, I've no idea if this guy planned it all along (make no mistake, a number of people do), or if he's just a tweaker who relapsed.

But either way, there's a reason why people tend to prefer buying and selling to/from people they've known personally for a long time.

Understood, but for those like myself who have not been around OLH that long all we have to go buy is trader comments, scumbaglist and What else we read here and other boards. Not much you can do about people like this in the end.

Not much you can do about people like this in the end.
Well, yes and no, there are some things you can do.

1-Leave accurate TC's for one.
2-Forward all info to Phil, (insight), for consideration of adding to the Scumbag List for another.
3-Link the Scumbag List in your sig tag here to alert others that such a thing exists.
4-Link your own TC history in your sig tag.  Anyone with anything to hide wouldn't do this and if every honest member does the scumbags would then stand out for being what they are as they would be the only ones who didn't.

Ron, I suggest you make amends.  There are more than enough people on these forums that are very resourceful and can make your life hell.  The internet is an amazing thing and I wonder what someone can find out by looking up your name in criminal records on Allegheny County's website?  Say in 2005 just for starters?  I wonder what someone can find by searching your name, your family's name, workplace etc?  Sure would suck for certain people in your life to know what you are doing to so many innocent people.

I suggest you send cigars (if you even have them) or make amends to pay before it gets to be more than you can handle.
