This is a dangerous TOS violation.  How they haven't shut this gifting thing down is beyond me!

Additionally, paypal will start reporting income to the IRS past some certain $ amount or transaction threshold.  Be prepared to talk with the tax man about what your selling and about where your receipts are.

Lastly paypal sides very heavily with those making claims of "not receiving marchandise".  It's a broken "guilty until proven innocent" system that leaves sellers wide open to being screwed.  Additionally, try explaining how you delivered cigars that you sold (already a TOS violation) after receiving a payment as a gift (TOS violation #2).  It's a shit show.

200 transactions or $20,000.. and everything up there is basically true regarding PP

On the gifting stuff, paypal has sent notices out if they see too many instances of gifting and basically says that if it continues, they'll remove the ability for people to send you gifts

Can you actually dispute a gift? I know with pp it sucks if you have to dispute something or have something disputed against you but the gift option thing I am not familiar with.

As a seller I would prefer a MO or personal check. It is a pain and sometimes requires one to go out of there way and pp just seems so much more convenient to use. As a buyer I love being able to just log on and pp the money so my end is completed pretty much once I agree to make the purchase.

He still checks on here..  I posted some ERDM especiales a while back and he said he'd buy them.. even offered cash..  I still couldn't bring myself to do it because there's probably some loophole I don't know about.. I'd probably take it to teh bank and it turned out to be counterfeit or some shit

You should have had him send the money, gave it to one of his many victims, then sold the cigars to someone else!   LOL!!

I thought about it and I was pretty confident that if he complained everyone else would say "you deserved it" (sort of like if OJ were to get stabbed).. but then again I'd technically be doing the same crap and no need to stoop to that level

Yea, I understand, and was really just talking tongue and cheek.  But still, you have to admit, it would be pretty cool!

Interesting comments regarding PP. So is 3% transaction vs. gift more advisable ?
