Moises ? Tijuana ??? ROFLMAO !!! I couldn't have picked a more likely shop to misrepresent the age of those cigars. Any shop owned or operated by David is suspect. Anybody familiar with the history of that shop won't be surprised that is where these are from. I wonder how many recall who David's main connection in Havana was ? And where is he now ?
Original Poster...strongly suggest that you give it up and enjoy the cigars for what they are...if lucky, more recent Fundadores, if not, anything else they put those bands on and stuffed into petacas. I hate to break it to you, but if these indeed came from Tijuana, you could not have worse "provenance". On top of that...there are no "lost corners" that cigars are magically found in in Max's storage facilities. He is the only authorized source for TJ, and doesn't happen upon "lost stock"... He knows exactly what he has and where it is. If your "trusted source" is LCDH TJ, I'm sorry :(

It's been a while since I've thought of the word Asshat, so thanks for that. You gonna hold your fist in the air and tell me to Scram?
As noted in my FS thread, the authenticity of the sticks was confirmed today, with Bernardo Andres, the Commercial Director for IEPT. They had actually purchased all remaining stock of the 98 Fundadores from Habans S.A. And were given the cardboard boxes to utilize for sale. He stated that because of this, you will only ever see these in 5x5 packaging in that lot purchased by IEPT...at least from an authorized supply chain.
I apologize for my first paragraph here. I didnt want to respond to such an attack on my character, but it did genuinely make me laugh...

The story of the provenance of these cigars changed (by you) in the meantime. As our emails show, I have been patient and polite in trying to help you understand why folks are skeptical. I suggested that you enjoy the cigars yourself, but you chose to ignore that and continue to attempt to sell them. It seems that you are convinced of the authenticity of your cigars. Most of us are not. You have discovered that folks here look out for each other. The last advice I can offer is that when digging yourself into a hole the first thing to do is put down the shovel.

Re: 98 Fundadores value?
Hey u never know. It is Cuba. Just having a tough time understanding how the wood boxes of these got so damaged that they had to be removed and put into 5x5 cardboard boxes? Wouldn't you think they'd just have been put into NEW WOOD BOXES? From my experience there are way too many red flags here. The FACT that 5x5s didn't start until 2002, the claim that the boxes were damaged, the lack of the underlying tax stamp all added to LCDH Tijuana and I wouldn't touch these with a ten foot pole. They MAY be '98s. I just don't think there is any way to prove it.

Please don't apologize. It only makes you look like a pussy. That, and I called you out...because:
You came on here asking about these and explaining how you didn't want start off on the bad foot, and when several members advised you what the ethical considerations are with cigars of questionable provenance( especially 98s), your next step was to do the opposite, and take the biggest dickstep you could to insure pariah status in the community. So, no, I don't need to waste my breath telling you to scram.....you're doing just fine all by yourself. Hopefully nobody gets burned by you before you decide to go elsewhere. Which is why I ever bothered typing at all, or taking this to the BZ

This doesn't make any sense. First you say that one box of Fundadores was damaged, and thus was necessary to move to petacas, now you say ALL of them? Well, I am surely impressed that they "purchased" all the "remaining stock" of '98 Fundadores from somewhere. What magic factory is this? Is this where all the '03 Des Dieux and '05 Magnum 46 are coming from? OR '10 Behikes? Monte Gran Reservas and Cohiba 1966?
How many boxes did they "purchase?" I'm surprised PCC HK did not bid over Gutmann for the Fundadores - there's more money in Asia - but more importantly, how did they ALL get damaged? Let me guess, Moises has just one more box left in stock and he's got another interested customer on the line. You need to be very careful dealing with him. I don't know who you're consulted with to get that he's "legit." I've heard everything contrary to such an opinion, and that has been conveyed in this thread - although it was evident that you did not pick that up.
It seems you have been approached privately by more than one individual since this sale was not conceived in malicious intent, however have decided to disregard advice. You need to read this again very carefully:
