Bill, could not say it better - brilliant advise!

This is best way to handle a situation like this.  I've both been the newb (sent my end first) and have requested the newb send their end first.  All times the transactions have been perfect.

Heavyd, with 4 posts and less than a week of membership, why would someone trust you to send money after you receive their cigars?

Newb to Newb, all bets are off you two may as well talk more thoroughly and work it out.

I never said anything about someone sending cigars to me before I pay...you have your posts confused :)

Why would anyone send a money order instead of Paypal is beyond me...

Some probably don't have an account. Ppl is also known to suspend accounts for these type of transactions.

Because you know and trust the person you are dealing with.  PP is a pain in the ass and has screwed up more than one account.  PP is good for people you don't know anything about.

We will agree to disagree. Nothing more convenient than clicking a button to send a "gift", IMO.  ;)

PP is terrible. If you haven't heard horror stories you haven't been using it for cigars a very long time.

This is a dangerous TOS violation.  How they haven't shut this gifting thing down is beyond me!

Additionally, paypal will start reporting income to the IRS past some certain $ amount or transaction threshold.  Be prepared to talk with the tax man about what your selling and about where your receipts are.

Lastly paypal sides very heavily with those making claims of "not receiving marchandise".  It's a broken "guilty until proven innocent" system that leaves sellers wide open to being screwed.  Additionally, try explaining how you delivered cigars that you sold (already a TOS violation) after receiving a payment as a gift (TOS violation #2).  It's a shit show.
