The lesson here is communication is king. Short of a near death experience or a family tragedy, if you're selling stuff, stay in communication.

I agree. That's where I messed up. I was offline all weekend. Last message I received was Monday AM, stating if I don't respond by Monday night, he'd start a battle zone thread...then he does immediately (didn't wait).
[quote author=cmitch link=topic=54991.msg209871#msg209871 date=1653339771]Probably not nervous enough to start a thread over it though.

And over a weekend. This is why I processed a refund rather than give this guy the product (which was at below cost; Dom just rose to $212/bottle when bought by the case). Who starts a thread calling me a scammer?

No dog in this hunt but how many times do we see this...........
Individual has something to sell on a forum... posts it...gets a response and a payment.
We all know the payment apps notify you when you receive payments.
How long does it take to notify someone who paid for a product that you have received said payment and when the product will ship?
It's called simple communication!
In this particular case the seller sez they had all types of things going on and just didn't check their "whatever" to see what the status was. I call BS on this. If you post something to sell you've been notified you have a buyer/payment and the transaction has started. Stay on top of it and be a responsible seller/buyer on the forums and quit making up BS stories to defend BS actions.

People do have real-life delays. We aren't shops that take orders and ship same day.

No one mentioned shipping the same day. Don't conflate the issue. This is about communication - it takes 30 seconds to send a PM that says "Got your payment, I'll be shipping early next week."

You're solid Seneca. Shit happens. Don't let the trolls that constantly cause trouble get under your skin.

Probably took you less than 30 seconds to type your response.
Not trolling just talking facts.
When you put something up for sale on a forum it is just plain courtesy to do a follow up with some type of response after payment has been received. Unless your dead!

I agree. There is no reason to not drop a note on a received payment within a couple of hours in the age of mobile phones - unless you’re out of pocket somewhere in which case the buyer should be notified beforehand that you will be gone and not to expect a reply quickly.

.... this. It is common courtesy. If you're selling you should never be too busy to let the buyer know what you're doing.
