They could probably control insane starting bids by implementing a limit on the number of listings you can have at one time.

It's a feedback loop. Boxes selling for well above market prices, which beget boxes going for higher and higher prices, and then people listing boxes at insane prices.
If it continues, I fear people buying more boxes here and other forums to flip there, which will increase prices everywhere.

I am continually surprised by the prices some boxes are commanding on BR. They are also doing a very good job of cornering the market on aged (slightly) and HTF boxes by bringing many of the known online merchants on as sellers. From the seller standpoint there are no fees after you sell $2k or whatever, so there is no downside to selling there when the odds are two people get into a bidding war and push a box of PLMCs to 5x their MSRP with four years on them.

A guy here sold a 2010 box of PSD4 for 300 bucks yesterday...easily would have fetched at least $600 on BR...at least.
I am not sure if BR can reset the market on current production on the secondary market since their volume isn't really all that much...but it sure makes long term buy/hold strategies something to reconsider...

I saw those as soon as they hit, but was suspect so I passed.[quote author=mbflash80 link=topic=50674.msg197149#msg197149 date=1596647877]
