My main reason I'm wondering is actually this - it seems like a LOT of deposit down.  And to me, it just seems to be too much variety there, and just way too many rollers, from way too many locations, and potentially way too much quantity.  From my experience, there's just a cautionary note there about too many hands being involved - that's what MY OWN first impression is / would be.

As I mentioned in my initial post, no, I'm not trying to shade Dallas - but aren't there (or haven't there been) quality control issues or provenance issues or items-getting-swapped-out on the way to Dallas?

I'm inquiring as I simply am wondering about it.  As Lisa mentioned, we had something similar happen with someone in the Toronto area a number of years ago, and it just about fucked a lot of people.  We had Customs and gov't heat on vendors, mules, re-sellers, etc., both domestically and overseas too.  There was a bit of a shit show about it.

Just because someone's been "doing it forever" doesn't automatically legitimize something.  And likewise, me "moving on" or not, or liking it or not, has nothing to do about it.  Just because someone maybe isn't invested in the stock market doesn't mean you don't want to learn what you can and check out the details in the news.

You ARE missing something. That arrangement is more like a group buy of sorts than a straight up sale. You are able to buy what you want, how you want, and get it FULLY guaranteed in a set amount of time.

I have been to Cuba with Dallas via his website and bought many, many bundles from him and know his process and the hassle he goes through. It is well worth it to me to give a percentage up front to avoid all the shit of traveling there for the most part yet I get what I want as if I was there.

Okay, so this helps answer my question though.

So...

Isn't there an issue there though, with all the "advance warning" that a group buy like this would give?  The giant red flag on the internet showing "HEY I'M GOING TO CUBA AND I'M GOING TO BE BUYING AND COMING BACK WITH ALL THIS", you know what I mean?

I know you guys in the States have had your exemption upped to 100 sticks now, correct?  But doing group buy things like this, it's still not kosher under your current import laws though, is it?  Can he order / pick up, on your behalf, if you're not on the physical trip itself?

Late to the party, yes.  Newbie, no.  But then again, you know that.

You always seems to have a stick wedged somewhere?  What gives?

You posted a question in the battle zone and got an answer you don't care for?

Boohoo and call a wammmbalance.

No stick wedged anywhere as I have bought, traded, herfed, traveled and drank with several of these Members.

I just call them like I see them.  Maybe you should consider th common denominator.

"As Lisa mentioned, we had something similar happen with someone in the Toronto area a number of years ago".

???? Never wrote anything like that.

I only gave a brother advice about why I like customs here.

Yeah, I just realized that now, Lisa.  I misread the Lester name - what came to mind was another "L"-named fella, that bigger issue from a few years back.

Sorry about that darling.

No, I get that crap.  We see it all the time.

And the post from SRQCigarman getting through with 500 -

I mean, is that a fluke???

We can get through with up to that amount, and it just depends 50/50 sometimes on if you get nailed for customs/duties fees when you claim it.

But, I mean, the nature of posting on here and other places, doing it specifically as a side-business, with the pre-advancing of so much cash and funds...

I'm just wondering how concerning it is about too many hands dealing with the cigars, and fear of gov't repercussions (in both countries).

And I love how some of you get your backs up waaaaaay too much.

I'm seriously asking two main questions - about provenance and about custom/duties/gov't hassles.  And the instant gut reaction of some is to troll and carry on like "fuck you prick", "get out of the sandbox", "you don't like it, then get lost", etc.

It's not about me liking it or not liking it - I'm very much undecided.  It's about me asking about more info, so I can make a more informed choice for myself, to get more opinions about the actual subject, and to have a bit of a conversation.
