What does my thread have to do with anything?

Also, who's to say that the vendor didn't wrap the box in cello for shipping/storage? NC vendors do it and nobody thinks twice about it.

Name a single vendor (NC or CC) that adds CELLO to boxes.  I've seen vacuum sealed packaging before, but that's not what is pictured.

NC boxes come wrapped in cello from the factory.  CC boxes don't.  Adding cello for shipment won't really add any value.

And yet, if it was a fake, why go through the extra cost and time of sealing it in plastic.

Definitely a mysterious box!

Anyone with any common sense wouldn't touch it.

Keep in mind, newb and completely backing away from any responsibility as they were a "gift".

Two separate B&Ms have shipped cigars to me with shrink wrap applied specifically for the purpose of shipping. I can say this with 100% certainty because there was a small boveda pack shrink wrapped to the box(not in the box).

You're glossing over the fact that everything else about the box is legit AND it's sealed AND the code checks out on habanos.com.

Perhaps the vendor chooses this method of sealing boxes over another?

One way or another, I'm just playing devil's advocate.

Shrink wrap is different than cello.

That's not actually cellophane, you realize that, yes? You can tell that from the second picture in his thread(note how it's obviously shrunken and the small drag in the wrap...presumably from a finger nail. Cellophane is rigid and doesn't do that). I assumed you were using it as a general term for plastic wrap.

Hell, I thought even people lacking common sense wouldn't've bought it, but I guess someone out there just had to have it.

The word "gift," jumped out at me, too.  It's right up there with "I'm selling it for a friend."

There are definitely vendors out there that have used their own wrap like that for storage/shipping purposes.

I've orders Cubans from a particular vendor that always vacuum seals his stick with bovada packs.  Every time time I order, it's always shipped the same way.
