The most caffeine comes from robusta and tastes like burned tires and old motor oil. Go for the flavor and let the caffeine happen.

Thanks Wade. That's why I opted to let the roaster choose the roast this time.
I wanted to see what I experienced trying the coffee from his perspective. :)

When I grow up, I want to be like you Max! I've been looking for one of those 1500w Poppers for a long time, but still haven't come across one. It would be
so much cheaper to roast at the house, and just buy green beans. I also need
to buy another Moka Pot too... I have one but it's in my storage unit.
Which yields more Caffeine? A lighter roast or a darker one?

I'm using an 1100 watt popper from amazon with no modifications and problems. It's super easy. (and cheap)

I take it that you only roast 1/4lb at a time because that's what the cup (of your popper) yields?

Burned tires and old motor oil.....yeah baby, lemme gitsum! I drink my coffee black no sugar. If its expresso some sugar, but minimal. If I'm running on fumes and its after 6pm, a cortadito is good (1/2 expresso+ 1/2 milk+sugar). John

I used to think that espresso was too strong for me, but as I was saying earlier
I need to get another Moka pot and get this going again. I'd like to try out your cortadito recipe John. Thanks for sharing!

It takes me about 5 rounds to roast a pound. So about 1/5 a a time. Just about an hour of work for a weeks worth of great coffee, and I usually have a cigar while I do it. Win / win!

I only drink it black. Tried it with milk and sugar once and just couldn't drink it, made everything taste bland.

I only drink my coffee black, but Iced! very very cold in a paper cup. I think when it is cold you can taste more of the actual flavors without any of the oil from the beans. I've tried to go back to the warm Joe and just cant do it. I taste to much junk.

How did you get into doing that?
