Really, in 2013, probably 20 yrs after the stuff was identified as being used in other sports (particularly cycling) the NFL and the Players Assn are just now coming to terms on some kind of testing!
There is a reason people think cycling is dirty, they test. If you never look you'll never find anything.

Hey now they want you to believe that athletes are getting bigger, stronger, faster and all the while more athletic naturally. Cyclist found ways to beat the test look at Lance Armstrong and so will every other athlete out there. When they stop making so much damn money the PEDs may slow down.

The difference in LA may be a 24kt ass but he's smart. The NFL is not populated with brilliant players. Sure there are some, and they'll get by, but the average "didn't even graduate after his eligibility was up" or the ones that got a criminal justice degree are going to get creamed. Now I seriously doubt that the NFLPA would possibly allow a regimen like that of pro cycling (random testing in and out of competition) but I have faith that the average football jock is stupid enough to get caught no matter how shabby the program is.

I would agree on the average jock being stupid. I mean how can you fight that one when they make millions and are broke just a few years after they retire. However they don't need to be smart to pass drug test they just need to be able to pay a smart guy to give them what they need to pass a drug test and we all know they can afford that.
Then again looks like Von Miller can't figure out how to get marijuana out of his system.

At the pro level I tend to agree with you, and it works until you find out that your high school age son is juicing, then it's not as ho-hum any more, and it does trickle down, and there are plenty of coaches out there at the HS level who are teaching the kids that it's all about this Friday night.
