Viaje Cigars help

Post by ak2000 »

Hey guys. Looking for some advice on these as I have been interested in trying them for some time. I prefer smaller ring gauge cigars like 46 or less, but also do like Robsutos, Torps and Belis on occasion. Big fan of the Illusione MK, HL and others, as well as Tatuaje Noellas, PL, and 7th, and most Habanos PCs, Coronas, Lanceros, etc. Mostly like medium-full/full-bodied cigars. Which ones should I try as I see some what appears to be good prices on a recent post?

Viaje doesn't make many smaller ring gauge cigars, and they just phased out all of their regular production lines, so the small RG stuff is done and the small RG limited releases are going to be tough to find.

I would suggest that you try to pickup some Viaje Exclusivo Chiquitos...they are a Perfecto shape and are a little bigger than a Fuente Short Story.  I have found this size and blend to be very good.  If you can't find any, let me know, I might let a 5er of mine go.

You can also check out the 2011 Holiday Blend petit robusto. I have seen them still availble.

The 50/50's (either Red or Black) No. 1 is a 46 ring.  As others have said, Viaje doesn't make too many small gauges.

It should not be very difficult to find some Corona of the Oro or Platino.  I have access to some if needed.

After smoking Viaje's for about 2 years now... I have come to prefer their Oro blend a little more than their Platino blend.  The Exclusivo blend is completely different.

What do you guys think of the Late Harvest 648? I've been really enjoying the Corona Gorda size Oro recently.

Well I for one find them to be a good cigar. 648 better than the 550. Different than any other Viaje IMO, maybe that is what does it...dunno

I have boxes of Viaje Platino Lancero. Andre will not be making this size again.  In fact, he has not made this size in a couple of years. Just recently he had roughly 60 empty boxes left at the factory and persuaded them to make the cigars for these boxes. I have boxes from this run. Pm me if interested.

The Tower 45th Anniversary is an excellent smaller Viaje stick.  Can only be found at Tower Cigars though.
