Re: Practical joke on a cigar aficionado wannabe at work.
I think you should DEFINITELY give the guy a Punisher... Won't matter if he throws it away after one puff.. His lips will go numb on the light up! Heck, I think I have one buried somewhere.. If you're still toying with him, PM me..I'll gladly send one over just so I can read more!
I'm new here so I don't want those who think this "lesson" was distasteful to think less of me, but I must admit that I got a kick from this experiment.
Some people just don't get it.. There are only a few people out there who take it to the level that your aficionado does.. I know someone JUST like this.. If he didn't discover it, it's mundane or useless or inferior or whatever.. Even when there is NO POSSIBLE way something could be as useless or inferior as they make it out to be (especially in comparison to a superior item/product), they dismiss it as garbage.. Like I said, most people are fortunate enough not to run into a dandy like this so they have no idea what it's like..
I'm all for strengthening one's interest in good cigars, but sometimes you can't help but call someone out on their crap.. You did no wrong.. Your experiment was no less "BOTLish" than his attitude towards good, gifted sticks that he didn't discover on his own.. Let's just say you were acting as his accountability partner and took a stride toward getting him on a more righteous path! :angl:
I know this thread is a year old but it's the best thing I've read in a month or two..THANKS!!!

A very nice gesture, but I am done with him. After giving him 10 or so great CCs, and him panning every single one, I am convinced that he only likes what he buys, and it has to be dirt cheap for him to enjoy it. Giving him cigars is like setting fire to your money... thanks for the offfer though and thanks also for the kind words, glad you enjoyed the prank.

I just gave away a dozen punishers. Made the mistake of lighting one up. Christ almighty who the hell could smoke that?

No problem. You're probably right. IF he ever does push you to madness, be sure to let us know so we can read the new chapter to this crazy saga.
