Maybe Scott is coming down to Philly for the Holts-Fuente event this year... that would be cool. I am guessing that we will all be going to that again...

Interesting read.
Personally I think if he's enjoying them (even if it's because his views on cigars are clouded by band/cost/whatever else) he can be left to his opinion and I wouldn't share anything with him.

Yeah, the first time someone complains about a smoke I give them is usually the last. Same goes for friends that take 4 puffs from a perfectly good stick and stamp it out.
>:( :-[
I don't get pissed. (although it DOES hurt my soul to watch someone waste a $10+ cigar) and perhaps it wasn't to their liking... but it definitely doesn't happen a second time.

Re: Practical joke on a cigar aficionado wannabe at work.
Another update.
This guy still doesn't believe that the cigars I gave him to smoke in the last sampling he did, were his brand that he has stockpiled.
So, now he is out to prove that Dominicans age better than Nics, and now he is taste testing Dominican Puros and he has apparently chosen 6-8 sticks to get 5ers of. Once he picks his persoanl faves, he will buy a few bundles or boxes to rest, and sample as time goes on. I have no idea how he chose the Dominican sticks that he ordered and his chosing criteria may be solely based on the fact that the 5ers he picked were puros.
I gave him the last stick he will ever see from me... a 2010 Fuente 858 Maduro from a box. Not an expensive stick, and these can be found for $5 a stick. It was the last one in my box, and he loves Maduros, so I told him he would be hard pressed to find a much better $4 maduro than the Fuente 858. He has yet to smoke it and report back... and if it gets stomped out or pitched, I may just stomp him.

Stamping out a half smoked 858 Maddie is a true insult! A great cigar for the money and the foundation of the Fuente line.
Ugh
Stop wasting your time and cigars on this guy.

Yep thats exactly what he did... he said he smoked half of it then claimed it got so bitter that it was not smokeable anymore and he pitched it. Now he is bragging about his new found Dominican Puros, called "#59 Factory Throwouts" that he got at a local tobacco shop with a very limited supply of cigars. After a bit of research, I found out that his Domican puros have up to 5 different types of tobacco in them, and they are not guaranteed to be all Dominican. Besides, how is it possible a $0.89 Factory throwaway, constructed from table scraps, floor sweepings, and factory dust bunnies, better than a $5 Fuente 858 Maduro.
I thought about it for awhile, and there are the 2 reasons in this goofy guys line of thinking I came up with.
1. (and probably most important) price... hard to find a smoke cheaper than $0.89 a stcik
2. He didn't find the 858 Maddies...and he only seems to put value on things he finds or discovers, anything from anyone else he doesn't care about. If he did, and actually paid for it with his money, he would have loved the 858 addie, just like he loves all the other stuff he has and bought with his own finances.
This guy is a total f*k-up... :finger: and :kissa:

Can't understand why you care what this guy thinks or likes. Lifes to short, enjoy your smokes and let him enjoy his dog rockets.
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in
sideways, cigar in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used
up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Great prank. I hate know it all a-holes like this. Your a nice guy, if I gave him a Cuban and he pitched it, I might have to pitch him. Forget these cry babies who can't take a joke! It's all in fun, not like you tricked him to drink piss.
