Tats???

Post by Deanedmond »

I am somewhat new to this forum and enjoy it because it gives me the oppurtunity to sample the discontinued habanos that were axed before i became a all out cigar smoker. As I look through the TSBC it is flooded with various Tats, most of which I have never heard of or have seen in any B&M in my town. Do You guys really like this stuff. Ive smoked all his reg. production stuff and they seem to be one dimensional dog rockets. I just dont get the all the love that it seems everybody has for Pete Johnson. Give me a PLPC or BRC any day over a Mexican West Coast black Havana x Petit Lancero released in a fake wooden burial vault with a trading card. But to each his own

^^+1^^

Pete's stuff has a place in my cigar rotation. Some of his releases I can walk away from and others I like to buy by the box.

Preference is subjective. Taste is a function of flavor. An orange is an orange. A strawberry is a strawberry. I used to have a preference for the flavors of Tatuajes. Now I do not.

taste...as in a preference to certain things over other things...but even your definition does not account for why one person might love an orange and the next might hate it...its subjective in its purest form even.

Maybe the context in which taste was used, isn't your taste?

I guess my real questions is do people really like his stuff or do people buy all his EL stuff as soon as it comes out to save and sell at a later date which in turn makes people want the stuff more because its sold out everywhere and basically creates this inflated tatuaje bubble.

I don't go crazy (or even half-crazy) for Tatuaje products. About half of the ones I've tried I liked enough that I'd pick up a couple of sticks if I came across them on the shelf at a B&M. I don't get turned off by the brand when they are included in a mixed-brand sampler, and I wouldn't turn one down if it was offered; there are many brands I can't say that about.

I don't try and collect all Tats like I once did.  Quit that at the creation of Sinners and Saints and actually sold off a good deal of my HTF HTF HTF sticks (intention was to highlight how EVERYTHING  is HTF).

I have purchased boxes for possible trading material at a later date but haven't been real successful with this because I usually wind up smoking them!!  LOL!!  This has happened with the Face, 2011 TAA, Wolfman (though I still have two dress boxes of these).  I have four boxes of Little Monsters that I won't even kid myself that they won't get smoked.

Try 'em and buy 'em if you like 'em...is my motto.  But you won't see my going way outta my way to find HTF HTF HTF HTF fucking Tats!  Yeah, I think S&S really was my "stick a fork in me" moment.  Can't blame Pete, lots of guys willing to play his game and I'd do the same if I were in his shoes.
