Only Thompson Cigar...

Saw this today and just couldn't believe it. The clueless scam-artists at Thompson are advertising that they have six boxes of Partagas 150 Don Ramons which are going for the low, low price of only $5000 each.

Thompsons sells tons of junky cigars, that sell for 1-2 bucks each.  If you ask any cigar retailer, they will probably tell you that the $1-4 stick sales keep them in business and actually make them more money than the high end stuff most of us here chase.  I have heard this same thing from a couple people who are close to retail shop owners.

As far as the 4000% markup goes...that's just plain wrong and Thompsons can stick those sticks right up their ass.

Another thing too watch out for with Thompsons... they will call you trying to get you to sign up for their cigar club, I think its called club 250.  The rep trying to rope me in did a lousy job of explaining it and I almost signed up.  The bottom line is that its free but once you sign up, you are locked into buying cigars at 90 day intervals, and they just start showing up at your house without you even placing an order. After I found out about the automatic shipping/billing, I backed out and told them I didnt appreciate the lousy explanation of a what I felt was really a scam.

Oh, and don't tell this guy that Thompsons is charging $5k for these...

They are worthless!!!!!!! I use the few boxes I have for prizes at charity events. I just gave one away a few weeks ago.

I know where there is a complete set plus a couple boxes of 160s... There are like 450 total cigars in sealed boxes for something like $10,000...

Thompson cigar sucks, I have no idea how they got my address but I keep getting their stupid catalogs.
