JohnnyLigero's F/S posts crack me up

Post by buster »

He reminds me of cigarbid.com with their freefall auctions. Johnny's cigars always start way too high and over the course of two weeks and several price drops later, they fall to the typical going rate price range for those cigars. I usually skip over his posts but open them from time to time after there are like 9 replies/updates or so just for amusement's sake. But hey, you gotta shoot for the stars at first if you want to make a profit right?

Don't know what the original cost on the Cojonu 2006s was, but they run roughly $60 a 5'er now.

None of Chris's sales are quick flips either.

I have dealt with him on several occasions and he has sent me some really nice sticks.

I'm not knocking the quality of his cigars. I'm saying his posts read like cigarbid.com freefall auctions.

Case in point:

I have seen alot of things fail to sell recently... even at way under MSRP (the best example is Viaje).  Its pretty disappointing and I guess its related to the economy.  Expensive boxes of CCs will always sell, but the other stuff is almost to the point where you can name your price as the buyer.  Sad for alot of people who have money wrapped up in sticks that won't sell.

Point taken.  It appears he is starting at his cost and then taking a loss from there, or adding a bonus stick.  I am just basing that on the costs of the NC stuff from vendors that USUALLY have the lowest prices.

If I remember right these started up around $310.  Some other folks put some partials up (46/50) around the same time at $200... I jumped on them.
