It is pretty clear you don't get it.  People were ripped off on these specific cigars for hundreds of thousands of dollars ranging from a year ago to three years ago.  No matter what he has to say it is worth refreshing people on the fact that pretty much every one of these ever seen on a cigar board was a fake ultimately sourced through the Rowby Goren stream.  It is also not a coincidence that Sig and eagle 32 were the two primary resellers and defenders of TL's stuff.  I am sorry if you think it is rude to point this out but not that sorry.  I think it is fucking absurd that people from this site send me pm's all the time about backdoor deals and suspicions they have about people they want added to the list but won't sack up and put information out in the open.  I love how quickly everyone forgets the shit that goes on around these boards but as soon as they are out of pocket 'us assholes' start getting phone calls at god awful oclock raising the war flag.

I'm very sorry that you are receiving these backdoor correspondences and stupid hour phone calls as you are "keeper of the list". I'm sure this is not what you signed up for.

Your quest for transparency within our community should be supported and commended.

I have been a great beneficiary of this pratice recently, imo.  

If a buyer/seller has nothing to hid and is true to their transaction there shouldn't be any problems.

If there are people that have concerns regarding "backdoor deals and suspicions" then they should post their concerns out in the open for all to see.  Remember, we police ourselves.

Not all BZ posts have to be flame wars, there is room or maybe should be a "room" for a "respectful discussion/debate".

So... why can't sig saur (Tom) respond in this thread and defend himself and the super HTF sticks he is selling... ignoring this thread and trying to sell those sticks 8-9 months after the TL ordeal only makes things look more suspicious to me.

Do people just completely ignore the BZ here even when threads are about them ??  Surely one of his buddies told him about this thread...

Think I might take my own recommendation and make my point.  What I don't like is insinuation so ill stop my own.  I say that if you have a suspicion about these sticks, which is reasonable given the history, then ask Tom where they were sourced.  Who knows, maybe he picked them up from someone like Mike M or someone of that caliber.

I have not forgotten that Tom was indeed a staunch supporter of TL and that he did indeed purchase numerous HTF sticks like the one's he's selling.  Id like to believe he is not low enough to resell anything gotten through TL but I don't know him well enough to state an opinion on his integrity.  I do think he has more sense than to try such a scam.  As Todd stated, one might expect Tom to defend himself by this point but for whatever reason, that hasn't happened.

Phil, I don't now, or have I ever, thought of you as the asshole who.....  In fact I sincerely appreciate the thankless job you perform in support of varied cigar interests.  To borrow from an older movie, perhaps I shouldn't enjoy the benefits of your efforts and then question the manner in which you go about it.  If I've offended then I apologize.

Can't believe someone would have the nerve to call you up in the middle of the night and solicit your support, especially after the fact.

There are certain cigars I'm just not ever buying from anyone unless I am good friends with them, I believe they have the competency to know if they cigars are real or not, and 100% provenance is known.

Some of the cigars fall into that category.  So I don't really care if they are real or fake.  Not interested.
